ARSENAL has been drawn at home to bogey team Bolton Wanderers in the fourth round of the FA Cup.

It's the third successive season they have met in the Cup, and although Arsenal dumped holder Liverpool 3-1 at Anfield on Saturday, Bolton has won four, drawn two and lost just one of its past seven games with the Gunners.

In other highlights of the overnight fourth-round draw, Manchester United is at home to Harry Redknapp's high-flying Portsmouth, while Chelsea hosts League One's Nottingham Forest, 2-0 conqueror of English Premier League struggler Charlton Athletic in Saturday's third round.

."It's a fantastic draw for us," Forest manager Colin Calderwood told the club website.

"The fact that it's an away draw and we're going to Stamford Bridge really whets the appetite because it's a chance for us to enjoy a touch of glamour."

Despite his side's recent record against the Gunners, Wanderers manager Sam Allarydce is still wary of the trip to north London.

"They remain unbeaten at the Emirates this season and, even though they have drawn a few at home, it will be a formidable task for us to go there and win or even bring them back to the Reebok for a replay."

In November, United beat Portsmouth, currently sixth in the table, 3-0 in a Premier League match at Old Trafford.

"We can't afford to go there with anything other than a full-strength team," Portsmouth assistant manager Tony Adams said.

"It will be a tough tie in front of nearly 80,000 at Old Trafford and the last time we were there we got battered. We went there with key players missing and you can't expect too much when you do that.

"We would fancy our chances against anyone at Fratton Park but this is a real test and we will have to perform to the maximum to survive it," said the former Arsenal and England defender.

Both sides were involved in all-Premiership third-round games last weekend, Portsmouth beating Wigan Athletic 2-1 at Fratton Park and United defeating Aston Villa 2-1 with an injury-time winner.

West Ham United, last season's beaten finalist, is at home to fellow Premiership struggler Watford.

League One promotion hopeful Swansea City, which beat top-flight Sheffield United 3-0 in the third round, now has a trip to either Ipswich Town or Chester City - the lowest-placed club left in the draw at 15th in League Two.

There is also the prospect of a fourth-round clash between Midlands arch-rivals West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers, who both play in the Championship.

Albion, eyeing promotion to the Premier League, is already through to the last 32 after beating Leeds United, but Wolves need to overcome League One Oldham Athletic in a third-round replay to set up a "Black Country" derby.

Gunners fire six past Reds
From Mark Ogden in Liverpool, England From FOX SPORTS
January 10, 2007

JULIO Baptista missed a penalty but still scored four goals as Arsenal booked a League Cup semi-final against north London rival Tottenham Hotspur by destroying Liverpool 6-3 at Anfield today.

Incredibly, Arsene Wenger's mix of youth and second-string players became the first team since Sunderland in 1930 to score six times at Anfield, while Baptista became the first visiting player to claim four goals at the famous stadium since the end of World War II.

Brazilian striker Baptista, who had failed to score a domestic goal for Arsenal since his loan move from Real Madrid in the summer, ended his drought in spectacular style as Wenger's team claimed their second cup victory at Anfield in four days.

Further Gunners goals from Jeremie Aliadiere and Alexandre Song completed a memorable win for Arsenal, with goals from Robbie Fowler, Steven Gerrard and Sami Hyypia making the score slightly respectable for the home side.

Although Liverpool boss Rafael Benitez had been set to field his youngsters in the original game, which was postponed because of heavy fog last month, Saturday's 3-1 FA Cup defeat against Arsenal at Anfield had left the League Cup as Liverpool's most realistic route to silverware this season and he recalled the big guns for this game.

Liverpool's hopes suffered a blow, however, when Chilean winger Mark Gonzalez was taken off the field on a stretcher after 10 minutes with his right leg in a splint after falling badly in a challenge from Theo Walcott.

The home side's nightmare start continued when Arsenal took the lead against the run of play with its first effort on goal on 27 minutes.

French striker Aliadiere sprung the offside trap to latch onto Kolo Toure's long ball forward and an impeccable first touch by the 23-year-old allowed him to shoot towards goal.

His initial effort was blocked by Jerzy Dudek, but Aliadiere reacted instantly to slot the rebound into the net in front of the Kop end.

It was harsh on Liverpool considering its dominance of possession, but Fowler managed to drag the Reds level on 32 minutes when he beat keeper Manuel Almunia with a typical poacher's goal from close range.

Almunia had palmed away Fabio Aurelio's free-kick, but Garcia pounced on the rebound and his square ball was flicked into the net by Fowler at the near post.

Liverpool's equaliser only sparked an incredible three-goal rout by Arsenal that left Wenger's team 4-1 up by half-time.

The Gunners regained the lead on 40 minutes thanks to a stunning free-kick by Baptista which left Dudek rooted to the spot from 30 yards.

A scrambled goal by Song from a corner made it 3-1 in first-half stoppage time before Baptista bagged his second when, looking suspiciously offside, he latched onto Aliadiere's throughball before beating the helpless Dudek.

When referee Martin Atkinson awarded Arsenal a 56th-minute penalty after Hyypia's foul on Aliadiere, humiliation was on the cards for Liverpool, but Dudek produced a brilliant save to keep out Baptista's spot-kick.

The powerful striker still claimed his hat-trick four minutes later, though, when, after being fed superbly by Aliadiere, he beat Dudek with a low shot from 20 yards to score Arsenal's fifth.

Liverpool was now facing its worst defeat since losing 5-1 at home to Preston North End in September 1953, but Gerrard ensured it avoided that unwanted feat by scoring perhaps the goal of the game with a volley from the edge of the penalty area on 68 minutes.

But the goal hardly raised a cheer from The Kop, and Liverpool's horror night was made even worse when Garcia was taken off on a stretcher in the closing stages with his leg in a splint as well, just like Gonzalez.

Sami Hyypia gave the home fans faint hope of a remarkable comeback when he headed in to make 5-3 on 80 minutes, but Arsenal had the last word when Baptista hit his fourth after more good work by Aliadiere.

Yes, that news only serves to reinforce my belief in the nrl salary cap, however flawed it might be.

I never quite understood why people rated Becks he was biggest load of garbage. He had a good freekick and cross but he couldn't dribble or defend.

I go for AC Milan, Hertha Berlin, Queensland Roar and the mighty Hajduk Split in the Croatian league.
