If we are paying a top 24 player 100k then that to me is a great deal if he produces. If he isn't in the top 24 then it has no barring on Fifitas contract because they are two separate caps.
This is very confusing to me, because of the penrith players not being aloud to play because he wasn't in the 24, yet was playing first grade.
Someone with more knowledge, help?
I think the second tier players outside of the top 25 nominated players are only allowed to earn x amount of dollars, the x amount of dollars is is collectively a secondary salary cap for all players wages combined as a total figure (not sure what that total figure is).
Players inside that secondary cap are getting paid whatever has been negotiated but it starts getting tricky once players are called up to FG as this activates "bonuses" which they are rightfully entiltled to but a club has to moniter these bonuses to ensure the second tier salary cap is not exceeded.
I dont know if I have that all correct or even if I did a decent job explaining it but I tried my best.
