well hello Mr Owen

forget it dier, once you go to real madrid your never the same, also the fact it was United vs stoke/hull..hmm touch decision

free transfer > pay as you play > minimum wage nothing huge > if he fails > ship him off somewhere in the summer for a million or 2

he will be good for a few goals and will be great for us in the carling cup, but i hope he kills it and relegates berbatoss to the bench

That was when it all started, He lied about his contract so Real got to pay cheaper for him. Looonngggg story.

All I'm saying is he is supposed to be a Liverpool legend 150+ goals for the club and he does that, I could handle his move to Real even though he back stabbed us. But this is a low act.

Players who have played at Man utd or Liverpool have refused to go to each other even after just 1 or 2 seasons there. Look at Tevez two seasons at Man u and was treated like **** and he shut down talks with Liverpool cause he didn't want to go there out of respect.

Sadly Owen cares more about his Country then Club ( you will understand soon, look in to it) He is a dog. I know wishing injuries upon players is low but i really hope he sucks balls, breaks his ankle again and winds up playing for I dunno Sydney fc.

Michael Owen, I am filthy with you, how could you..?

Was my favorite player of all time, Till now. I remember when I played soccer I was a striker I used to watch tapes of him and try to mimic him for out on the field. Obviously I didn't achieve that cause the furthest I ever got was to Rep QLD in under 14's....Then I quit haha.

I know for a fact we were after Tevez pretty hard and he told us no because he would not go to Man u biggest rival ( I count us as your biggest rival, city is more of a derby thing IMO) Now Owen has gone straight to Man u, you talk about a bit of a sour taste in your mouth, I want to be sick.

Even past players like Cisse, Baros said they would never join Uniter or Everton because they have a past at Anfield, Owen is 'suppose' to be a Liverpool legend so how could he do this

One of the problems is that fans feel that players should have the same passion for a club or team that they do. They're professional sportsmen and it's their job. They don't have the same ties to any one team. People will go to the best job they can get with the best prospects. For Owen, going to UTD is a another no-brainer.
Very rarely, you will get a player who stays with the one team all his career and is happy to do so but even Stevie Me was off to join the Mourinho revolution at Chelsea a few years ago till a few death threats changed his mind.
It may seem selfish, but Owen is coming to the end of his career and wants the very best he can get for himself and his family. With that in mind, it's no surprise that he chose UTD over Stoke or Hull.

Aah, but that's a silly question isn't it Dier? Why would Keano, the King or Becks want to take a step backwards in their careers? :D

Beckham had done his dash at UTD. Fergie wanted rid of him and offered him to Barca. Once Real saw the chance to increase shirt sales by having him themselves they jumped in and snapped him up. He never reached the same heights and is now plying his trade (for a shed load of dosh admittedly) in a competition that would struggle to match up to league 1 football here. I personally would have no problem if he turned up at Liverpool. He's shown that his commercial ineterests are more important than his football. Keano may well have gone to Liverpool if he felt it would further his career, but it wouldn't have, so he didn't. The King would no more have turned out at Analfield than he would have gouged out his own eyes.
In all honesty, I never had any more than a simmering antipathy towards Owen during his Liverpool career. He was so dull and inoffensive.
Robby Fowlup or Stevie Me on the other hand? I'd rather raze OT to the ground than see either of those two wearing a UTD shirt. Eurgh. I've just been a little sick in my mouth thinking of it.

Interesting story ( All speculation IMO but still interesting none-the-less). The owner of Liverpool has sold his baseball team. Ribery to join Liverpool was odds of 66-1 ( you can bet on this stuff)..Betting was suspended then came back at Ribery to join Liverpool at 8-1. A lot on a Liverpool forum are going nuts trying to figure out why, some believe the owner put in a bid after selling his baseball team to show his priority is liverpool. However I just think its nothing put a couple of people putting a lil bit of money on it, Betting got worried and lowered the odds, however they did lose bucket load on Owen to Manure it was 20-1 when it happened.

Yeh. Heard that on sky sports this morning. Personally, it would not surprise me if 'pool have put in an offer, but if Bayern were willing to let him go there's only one place he's going to go really, isn't there? He'll make more money in Madrid and can be part of (cough, cough) the new galacticos. He's already said that's where he wants to go. Still, stranger things have happened.

Yeah I don't think much of it mate, Just an interesting story. Personally I would prefer Silva and Villa, which i feel we could get for the same price as Ribery ( With a few players of course.)

Word on the street is that the Mancs have had enough of the Transfer window and don't want to get caught up in the "insane" prices. Fair enough I say its a fukin Joke atm.

Adabeyour ( Yerp didnt spell that right to lazy to look up) is off to city. That gives city way to many Strikers and furthers their status as a joke of a club. Tevez is meant to be announced in the next few days for city too. Bellamy, Robinho, Santa Cruz, Tevez and Adabeyour. ( Does Jo still play for them) What they gonna play a 3 2 5 formation?

Ha ha. If Fergie wants another player he'll spend what he has to, but the prices are out of whack at the moment due to Real and City throwing around wads of cash. The same sort of thing happened when Chelsea fell into a pile of russian moolah.
Just call him Ade, it's easier. Yeh, looks like he may be off to the blue goons for about £25 mill and a wage of £130,000 a week. They're still going hard after John Terry too. £40 mill and a wage of £240,000. I think "insane" prices doesn't even begin to cover it. Tevez is a done deal. 5 year contract and about £120,000 a week. Jo will probably either be sold or go out on loan again.
At UTD, I would possibly like another central midfielder, but I'll continue to trust Fergie to know what's needed.
Apparently Alonso has said to Rafa that he wants to leave, but the club have told him to hand in a written transfer request. We'll see.

Yer read today that he is as good as gone, sad. Loved him as a player.

Also read that we have put in another bid for Silva and Villa in the Region of 50 mil plus Reira Babel and Voronin.

20 mil in for Ashley Young to apparently.

Thats all paper talk so don't know how much its worth properly nothing.

Too right Peach. I can't believe some of the crap he's been coming out with. I can't help but think he's been very badly advised by his agent.* I mean he's got a pay rise and his 'owners' have all their dosh.* Why bother with all the -"Oh Mr Ferguson, he very mean to me" rubbish.* Fact is he got more time on the pitch than both Roon and Berba and scored less goals.* Let's see how happy he is when he's being rotated with the 6 strikers at the bitters.Let it go man. Just let it go.

Manchester United reject FFA bid to play Sydney FC or Melbourne Victory
http://www.foxsports.com.au/story/0,8659,25799631-23215,00.html

Football Federation Australia has failed with an audaccious plan to lure Barclays Premier League champions Manchester United to Australia.

United were due to play an Indonesian Super League XI on Monday, but they were forced to cancel the game following Friday's terrorist strike in Jakarta.

Sir Alex Ferguson's side were booked to stay at the Ritz-Carlton hotel in Jakarta, which was attacked, along with the JW Marriott, by bombers.

Following the postponement of the game, FFA approached United with an offer to stage a last-minute fixture in Sydney or Melbourne against A-League champions Melbourne Victory or Sydney FC.

But logistical issues put paid to the plan, with United chief executive David Gill revealing on the club's website that the team wanted to remain in Kuala Lumpar, where they are playing a Malaysian XI on Saturday.

The FFA approach was discussed by both parties, but the English giants' desire to return to Malaysia straight after the fixture was not seen as a feasible option.

"We were planning to pull out all the stops for it to happen, as it would have been an attractive fixture for fans and for Sydney FC or Melbourne," FFA director of communications Bonita Mersiades said.

"However, their commitments meant the game could only be played on Monday, which we were willing to organise, but there was a lot of to-ing and fro-ing on their side so unfortunately it wasn't possible."

Events NSW and Victoria Tourism had been involved in high-level talks with FFA in the bid to lure the Red Devils Down Under, with United understood to have been offered $2 million to play the game at ANZ Stadium in Sydney.
