Not this **** again.

Let's blame the finals loss on the bloke who didn't play, and let's fix the team by moving a bloke who plays heaps of his minutes at prop... to prop.

If you want to start him from the bench to mix things up and bring his minutes down a little - sure - but whether you tell him to replace the bloke wearing #10 or #13 Dale Finucane is going to play like Dale Finucane, and Cameron McInnes is not going to be playing 80 every week.
Thank you. Far out.

Who would have thought that a team would under-perform with only 1 good leg between their starting 3 middles?

Toby's been copping heaps. "Plays too many minutes" seems to be the main criticism (runs less, makes mistakes and misses tackles when he is tired). I looked at this in great detail a few weeks ago, and it's nonsense.
You should know after a loss stories get made up to suit agendas

Dales first stint with us was incredible and you could see the reason he was recruited, after that he lacked fitness and intensity due to injury and suspension but was still reliable and solid in defence, he never has and never will be a payne hass 200 meters every game

If he can stay injury and suspension free he's very much an integral cog in our side next year

His last four years are a little concerning in relation to games played.

I’ve changed my tune on Nicho somewhat. Turned his form around, but so not a captain. Too fragile and emotional during games. He seems to always be pushing players and complaining. Whether it to be to the touchie, ref or pushing opposition players. Not a captains temperament.
someone should let half of the nrls captains know

Ah yep, my mistake. Either way, it doesn't make for great reading.

Be good to see him get 20 games in next year.
I agree, but the idea that he is falling apart because age is catching up is pretty silly. It's basically two injuries in 4 years, plus 2 head knocks and a couple of suspensions for things that wouldn't have even been penalties in 2019.

I never said he was falling apart, just that the amount of games in recent years isn't great.

Yep. He was probably one of our best players right up to when he got that stupid suspension. Unfortunately after that he was in and out with injuries. He was definitely under cooked come semi-finals

I don't think Cam was anywhere near SOO selection realistically - was just media chatter IIRC and nothing coming out of blues camp.

Cam is exactly the sort of player that the Blues should pick which is exactly why they won't pick him.

They prefer flavor of the month type forwards with hype around them and a recent highlights package. Not tough honest hard working no nonsense players ironically well suited to the Origin arena. Ya know like the kinda players a QLD team would pick and support and have thrive in their systems.

The blues picked Dale for SOO years ago when he was younger and in more prime form. He went out and did his job, made tackles and kept it tidy. But......... didn't set the field on fire so thrown to the scrap heap after 1 game. Sifa deserved another chance as well.

So if Cam did find himself selected (despite being in excellent form) it would only be out of desperation and cause there is nothing else left and he has the same first name as that hooker that played for QLD for a while...

If you are slow and busted like Jurbo though it doesn't matter, you will still be considered for selection cause you in the special blues club.

They are absolute mongs when it comes to putting together a squad for an Origin series.

As for Nicho, should be no where near the Cronulla captaincy at this stage. Needs to get his game right and combination with Tricky working as a priority. He has enough on his shoulders and more responsbility isn't necesasriyl good for him or the team right now. He already has a big job as our million $ half, let him focus on that.

Down the track with more experience and more consistent form and balance to his game and emotions happy for him to be reconsidered for the position.

Cam has had the captains role before but I think I would prefer someone that is more vocal with his team mates and the refs. Maybe he would bring those elements if was given the role but he seems kinda quiet and unassuming out there.

As for Dale looking elsewhere, unless we had a good signing to make to fill the void it doesn't make much sense for alot of reasons.

Gus talked about this a few weeks ago. He said if McInnes was a Queenslander he would have ben picked years ago. He said basically the same as you here: he's the type of player they should pick for origin, but probably won't.
