I think is one of those cases where stats dont tell the full picture of Dale's value to the team.

I reckon even @burgess1978 would struggle to graph his full contribution.

In some other sports they have a stat called WOWY (with or without you). I’m trying to figure out a way to represent that…

We don’t have individual stats for each stint, but we do have details of when players went on/off the field. If I want to show the effect Finucane has on other forwards, I should be able to graph output by “minutes played with Finucane” for each player across the whole season

E.g. here is Toby’a output when he plays 0-20 mins with Finucane, here is 20-40, and here is 60+.

… or something like that. I still need to put some thought in to it.

An article broke down that defensive set against the Warriors when we had 2 off, 13 Vs 11 as they attacked our line

It went into way more detail and even had replays. But to put it as extremely short as possible.

Finucane was practically involved in every tackle. Started as an A defender on our right, ended up making a tackle out wide on our left, was involved in the next tackle on our left, ended back up as a marker on our right from covering and then made the cover tackle as their centre went through a gap out wide to our right to shut down a certain try. Pointing and yelling at our players to be in positions the entire time.

It’s been pointed out already but he massively changes our defence
