I absolutely agree with this bolded line.

I would nominate Keogh and Boldeman as two I have great faith in. I can't see Keogh taking too much advice from the Rothfields of the world, for example. And, while I am sure he'd be courteous to the likes of Peter Gow, he'd still make his own calls on things. I don't know too much about some other members, and I know more than I'd like about a few of them.

It's the hangers-on and 'Old Boys Clubbers' who worry me.

I voted for those two plus Dwyer out of the successful candidates. Airey iam told is a decent guy. But with McConnell, whom I find arrogant and old Dane plus the loss of Douglas, that certainky weakens things a bit.

Wow what a full betrayal by voters, ousted after saving the Club from death, shameful really, I'd be pretty bitter if I was DI and friends. You should all pray we don't fall back in the sh)it again because I wouldn't come back if I were them!

I'm a bit the same. People who call themselves sharks supporters speculating they won't "get along" with the development partners. I think everyone needs to give these people a go. I've been told some pretty scratchy stories of some of their back grounds, but I choose to give them a chance to show their wears before accusing them of running up a heap of debt and killing the club

LOL

Anyone here with half a brain knows that I am in regular dialogue with our JVPs

I stand by my comment on twitter "I have serious doubts that our JVPs will be able to work with new Sharks board."

Right. My concern can be summed up in two words: vested interests.

Namely Rothfield and the payback he will call in for running a fortnight of advertising for this mob.

And the future of the development. Dino Mezzatesta- runs hotels, no? Any chance he'll want to influence the development?

I'm no Shire local so I have nothing to say about De La Salle influence, though I know that is a concern for many as well.

The previous Board (particularly Irvine, Douglas, Ward etc) were faced with the highest of standards from the get go. It was 'get it right, or we die and the blood be on your hands'.

The test for this mob will be different: act solely in the best interests of the Club. Which is obviously much harder to measure.

One test that I'll be keeping an eye out for is constitutional reform and improving communication with/integration of the fan base with the Club. They must support the players and staff but not protect any cheats. Another test will be the smooth and on-time progress of the development. Others will be the ongoing tenure of at least one of Cullen and Noyce, the paucity of important information and obviously the financials.

Given Rothfield appears to be well in their corner, one major paper will do bugger all to hold them to account. Hopefully the SMH will keep up the hard line they've been running for the last three years plus.

So yeah, the new Board should be allowed some time to see how they perform. But not much. The stakes are high.

Dane Sorenson run at the last election as well. Happy to hear he got in.

You can't be serious!

He was Gow's fist puppet on the last election and failed dismally because he had nothing to offer - he was then rammed into the latest incarnation of the "Unity" How To Vote at the last moment because Gow needed him there.

Useless.

Intellect of a house fly and is only good for running up the price of the Board's bar tab and buffet bill.

What was that about professional businessmen?

Just one more note and I know it will get lost but... Well done to Tony Bagnall for life membership of the football club, along with Jim Barnett.

Here, here. Congratulations and appreciation to both of you.

Do we know whatever happened to Dunphy disappearing from the Unity ticket?

What are Sorensons qualifications exaclty? I remember seeing him in the book, but I'm drawing a blank when trying to recall what was actually there.

Not sure if you are joking, but that's because it was a blank (page)! He didn't submit the 300 words for the booklet.

I believe he's a builder. Plus obviously the football experience.

I'm pondering the looks on the new board members faces as they now meet to review the ASADA / ACC info and the contents of the Cavanagh report.

this is the "dream team the sharks have waited all their lives for"

Keogh - B.Comm, CEO
Boldeman - B.Econ, CEO
McConnell - M. Empl Relations
Mezzatesta - No qualifications listed
Airey - Electrician
Dwyer - Lawyer
Sorenson - Builder

the people have been duped by Rothfield and Gow I reckon... there are 3 qualified people on here but where is Dunphy,O'Neille and McCarthy? Were they ever actually going to have the time to be directors or was it all staged? they are even still on the website as being part of the Unity ticket..

It doesn't matter what they do now, they are in.

Unless they screw up royally, or more to the point are perceived by the man on the street to screw up royally they will be there ad infinitum.

Especially with Buzz's support.

O'Neile was on the how to vote ticket. The other two were withdrawn from the how-to-vote when they realised they could not get all their nominees on board due to the rules, and Sorensen added in their place. They could not be removed from the nominees at that stage.
