samshark - I am just a punter who loves the sharks and have read every article and statement that has been written since the development proposal was put to the members to vote on.

I also annoy people on game day with questions.

its called an informed decision.

I also have a fairly senior role in business and qualifications that help me understand all this.

why did the bank control the finances?

because the previous Pierce board of a decade before had borrowed $14m against an asset worth $4m and all but destroyed the club.

mate, I already know all this. This is not what I am asking.

Thank you, I rest my case.

Look, if you've ever read my posts you will see that Ive also praised the board on the job they have done the last few years. And Ive got finance experience myself so I can read a balance sheet. Although I never agreed with not having a CEO, hamstrung by the bank or not.

However, things have now changed with the whole ASADA business, Cullen coming in and subsequent re-structure. Although I like the new structure, for me it has raised some doubts on the way some things have been handled or why things have been handled by the board. One being Cullen. And despite what you say we still dont have those answers.

Tips, can I say this. I'm not a finance man. Don't understand it but if I was empowered to govern the Cronulla sharks I too would have cut spending in the endeavor to save money. What I wouldn't have done would imply a management structure that was flawed and had to be rescued by the NRL. Admit it, some decisions, especially this one has been **** house. If you can't see that the NRL needed to step in then mate your the one not getting it.

It has to be said tips, you have absolutely no idea and no understanding of this at all. If you are in finance in a high role please tell me where because I never want my financials handled like you explain and applaud. Your analogy with the house is utter nonsense.

People do not walk in to my office and ask for advice for doing nothing wrong. Yet the board found it necessary to get legal advice, paid for by the Club, to see what was required to absolve them. Why? and how much? These are genuine questions. Can you tell us all today how much in total the board have spent on legal fees, consultants, spin doctors, and so on? Is that running the club or self protection?

Genuine Sharks supporters are there for the betterment of the Club not an individual. The board have not performed.

Why do so many in this thread feel the need to patronise or belittle others when trying to get their point across? Surely we can have a mature conversation, without those who ask and answer questions being treated with disdain for having an alternative viewpoint.

But then no one's agenda's would get across boomy?!

Mmmm, it's just bloody annoying. I think it might be the mum in me coming out. Some need to get put on the naughty step and think about the way they treat others...haha.

But I like my name Fitz. It means something to me, as it was the chant my Dad and I sang out during the first Sharks game I remember. So there yourself! Haha.

Oh dear Peter, truly good luck mate.

I can just imagine all these members kneeling to you, pleading, "please Peter take us to the promised land, you are our only hope"

I hope all your questions can be answered to your satisfaction, but I suspect they will not as it won't suit your agenda or your need for self gratification.

I mean seriously why did you come on here, I bet you thought everyone would praise you...

Big c'mon indulge me, I attempted to explain things in relatable terms using the facts about the club as I know it;

You give me your take on the finances and your business plan to save us?

Oh and btw, I never said I was in finance..

Tips, we are still 3M + in debt, Newcastle were 4M in debt when members voted for the Tinkler takeover. I am so happy we have improved all aspects of our financials, but, we are still in a hole to the value of ??
Put up some comparisons to the other Sydney clubs and give us a true indication of where we are at.

Well answered below

Just to be precise... the Board has got us to a position of having a BANK DEBT of about $3.5M and a combined asset of around the $52M mark with major in-place revenue streams for the future

Newcastle, on the other hand, was minus $4M+ on the balance sheet AFTER taking into account their combined asset value.

That's a VERY different proposition and one very similar to the one we were in 2010.

Just 3 years later and the Board has us sitting about +$49M on the balance sheet.

Exactly - pity that doesn't suit peter cobb's spin

Just following up on this Peter, if I didn't say I was a punter but actually said i was a managing director of a multi million dollar company that has had discussions with people in the sharks about sponsorship and was considering it, but it depends on the outcome of the board election and that is also the reason I know what I do.

What i said wouldn't change but would you treat me the same?

I bet you don't answer this question but deflect it with another question..
