What legal predicament is the board in relating to drugs? There were signs that we were at the start of this but then ASADA came out and said not interested in the club only the players. Secondly the litigation under way right now are to do with the dismissal by the board of staff, the defamation by Irvine, and the reneging of a deal with a security company all by the board.

Former chairman Damian Irvine refused to appoint a chief executive for three years. The move to appoint Noyce was one of a number of recommendations from an internal investigation into management failings in 2011, the period ASADA is now investigating.
The Sharks are experiencing the most unstable period in the club's history. A ticket headed by three-time Olympian Damian Keogh, and backed by former chairman Peter Gow, is challenging the board at the AGM in three weeks.

Yep.
You know... the job that Mooney was doing before his employment was discontinued due to his management failings.
Maybe Rothfield's qualms have not been so much that we didn't have someone doing the top job for the Football Club (which we did in Mooney) than the person wasn't as high-profile as he wishes.
Who knows?
I'm getting a bit tired of Rothfield's shenanigans.

Just on the whole "outsourcing" thing...
I see it as crucial that the investigation was done with a level of professional separation.
How could an investigation done by Board members ever be acted upon in terms of wrongful dismissal?
Personally, I see the engagement of an external professional with specialised and relevant expertise as a bit of a master-stroke of corporate governance and the Board at the time should be applauded for that decision - not derided.
It's called transparency, independence and an avoidance of conflict of interest at all times.
The NRL's integrity unit was set up for similar reasons. Professional distance and separation of authority and delegation is paramount for it to be effective.
You wouldn't get an in-house person to audit the books or go to a tyre fitter to get your transmission fixed.
I mean imagine if the Police were responsible for investigating the Police...
Oh wait...
Cheers Shark.Spider is a former employee. Generally knows his stuff. But a former employee. Don't know the circumstances surrounding his departure, so I don't k now if there's any anti-club, anti-management or anti-board sentiment there.
