I don't hate the CSSC at all. I stated that extreme power isn't a good thing. I don't want De La to have total control either. I'm after a balanced board, 2 finance men, 2 legal men and the rest top end business men. If we had a former sharks player that fitted either of those categories, I would push for his inclusion, but we haven't.

Ok fair enough - but you did specifically mention the CSSC in the context of "wielding extreme power".

I'm confident that you & I want the same thing - a strong Sharks team & club for the future.

We do. We are both sharks men. No one can take that away from either of us.

Fitzy2513, I don't think anyone really has issue with Peter. Rather it was the approach of criticism which may be understandable based on some of the appalling media reporting, however until the full facts of what has transpired can be made available, most is conjecture. Has the current board failed in its governance of the Sharks? That's not for me, you or Peter to say at this stage. We do not have all the facts.

I was pleased to read Peter's reply in which he is prepared to work with any of the existing Board and I assume others. I see that as a positive point, which Peter should use this as his main focus, with his concerns in other areas being able to be worked through with the elected members of the Board.

Anyway, I wish him luck with the election. He obviously has real passion for the Sharks and as a lawyer, would bring additional skills.

Yep, I think so. May have had a run with us in the lower grades, I'm not sure. Point is, he's a former player and a locally-based lawyer. Good for continuity.

I just hope people keep an open mind on the up coming election. No one wants De La in again. I suppose it's hard for everyone cause there is so much information out there. The problem is shifting through the ****.

Thanks Peter for dropping in and answering some questions and telling us about yourself.

I hope we end up with a well balanced board,
and am waiting for others to show their hand and tells us about themselves and what they stand for and some background info.

I fail to see how anybody could be content with the present position of the Club. Where the Club is now is due to the decisions of the Board. It is not alarmist to say that the Sharks as we know them will not exist in seasons to come. You need to put allegiances and unities aside and start to think in the best interests of the Sharks.

The Sharks are in two positions at the moment. One is a greatly improved financial position due to the board, the other is a dangerous and complex legal position due to football staff members and players.

The board have never given the players illegal drugs as far as I'm aware? There have been zero reports of that happening.

The football staff however have been reported to have done that numerous times.

The board got us into a position where we are alive today despite the detrimental work done by so many football staff and previous boards.

So many have talked the talk before but few walked the walk, other than the current board.

That is why we are sceptical of 'johnny come lately' tickets that were no where to be seen when the current board were saving the club and not earning a cent doing it.

So... tonight I'm casually told over dinner that "Sharks Unity" candidate Paul O'NEILE (CEO & Executive Director of "Boost Mobile") is actually Ricky Stuart's long term next door neighbour and best mate.

Is it just me or does this stuff get weirder by the day?

I just sent this to a Sharks Unity nominee

Dear XXXXXX,

I have read the SharksUnity website and the profiles of the nominees.

It is disappointing that there is no feedback mechanism on the website so that voting members can ask questions of the nominees so that informed voting decisions can be made.

It would be good if such a mechanism could be included on the website before the election. Well before actually.

There is one nominee who has made himself available for questions via two of the popular rugby league forums for The Sharks.

http://www.sharksforever.com.au/ & http://www.leagueunlimited.com.au/ are the two forums where many members participate in discussions pertaining to the Sharks and the hot topic now is the upcoming election.

Perhaps you could pass this on to your fellow nominees and consider joining these forums so that members can ask questions and get a better understanding of what Sharks Unity is all about.

To many people I have spoken to at the games and on these forums the ticket is merely a collection of faceless men.

Sincerely

XXXXXXXXX

Sent from my iPad*so blame it for any weirdo spelling

then for mine its up to flanno and DI to come out and deny those rumours. Their silence at this time is only going to lend credence to the rumour

I have to agree with this well made point. If there are no issues between the two, a simple comment dismissing the rumors is all that is required and then the matter is dead and buried.

same person that told you about Douglas having dinner and missing Flanno's meeting?

Coz even Flanno himself said he had a meeting when Louis said he did?

or is the media wrong again?

No.

Coz even Flanno himself said he had a meeting when Louis said he did?

Incorrect.

Louis said meeting happened on the night of Wednesday, 20th March. It didn't happen until the night of Thursday, 21st March where an in-principle agreement and outcome was reached. A further meeting on the morning of Friday, 22nd March resolved finer details of Flanagan's reinstatement.

or is the media wrong again?

Probably, depends on who you choose to read.

What legal predicament is the board in relating to drugs? There were signs that we were at the start of this but then ASADA came out and said not interested in the club only the players. Secondly the litigation under way right now are to do with the dismissal by the board of staff, the defamation by Irvine, and the reneging of a deal with a security company all by the board.

Excellent news. Thanks for the update. Keep them coming. Can you let us know what he had for dinner like you did with Douglas?
