You can't compare McGaw to Gallen. Gallen has a business brain and much respected by all including current players.

Is that the hand he uses for his cane or for his chalice?

What’s the maximum number of rings on one hand that is acceptable?

Slothfield reckons there's some sorta members push to get Barry Russell back on board

can't see it happening myself but enough votes anything is possible I spose but Slothy also likes to exaggerate
Bombers mother told people to bring back Bazza in her online blow up of the board. It may get traction.

This board is a disaster. They need to start getting some wins on the board quickly or we will be starting to pay overs for **** players. The only thing they have really done well is bring mcinnes on board and if media is to be believed that was mainly Morris....

Fitzy would surely be nervous now wondering if he has made the right call coming to this rabble of a club

That's a very misguided opinion.

Here we go again. Jesus Christ.

So sharks boards current track record (footy related)

- sack Morris (poorly handled)
- get Fitz (a win)
- miss out on ciraldo
- miss out on Bellamy
- miss out on Reynolds
- no halves signed for 2022 (unless you include Tracey)
- potentially $3-4mil to spend and haven’t made any major signings (other than Mcinnes)

They are doing very well off the field with our financial position but if we aren’t playing well we will start to lose sponsors and struggle to attract big name players.

I'm glad you mentioned this bit because they've absolutely shot the lights out on that area, which is obviously critical.

I reckon we'll get Ciraldo for 2023.

If we miss Bellamy how is it their fault? We've apparently offered him $1.6m per year. Say that figure out loud. What else are we meant to do?

On Reynolds, again, we offered a very good deal. How much further would you have gone?

I will agree on the Morris sacking, that was poorly handled imo.

Cant knock them for financial acumen because they have performed better than previous in that regard

Agree Bellamy probably not much else they can do there BUT with Reynolds again if media is to be believed, we have done poorly throughout those negotiations and if it’s true he took less money to go to Brisbane that doesn’t bode well with future recruitment prospects

the board had a very audacious goal and they have made it clear they want success on the field but shafting Morris set the tone for a better result in a few of those points which just haven’t eventuated

You know better than that mate.

You also know full well he'll be getting a stack of TPPs up there, something we just can't compete with.

So sure, maybe his cap value will be less that what we offered, but I'll bet you anything he's earning at least a mill per year with TPPs added.

I know but players see this stuff and will make them second guess every if it’s bending the truth. The media may not be correct but it possibly stains out image regardless. Either way doesn’t paint us in the best light overall and when there is smoke there is fire generally

Players listen to their managers more than anyone else.

- sack Morris (poorly handled) I still not sure how they could have done it better once it got leaked. And they didn't leak it. And they couldn't do it sooner as Fitz hadn't agreed.
- get Fitz (a win)
- miss out on ciraldo He's under contract and wants to honour that. I'm not holding that against the board. Besides I think we'll still get him eventually
- miss out on Bellamy We haven't missed yet, and not sure what else we can do. Getting him to get away from Melbourne and even entertain coming to us was good.
- miss out on Reynolds He's gone for more money and a coaching gig post footy, it happens. Club could had gotten him if they were desperate but didnt' want to pay overs or go to 4 years.
- no halves signed for 2022 (unless you include Tracey) It's May, how about you wait and see.
