He's not going to do that. I love Flanno but that 2016 team was lightning in a bottle, and yes he put them together and coached us to a gf win, but the idea that that makes him a great coach doesn't fly with me. I liken him to Phar Laps trainer. Never trained another good horse.

Not sure about that mate. But Flanno will make them better at least.

You are off your head

This post deserves a ban

Literally built a club not a team a whole club from the ground up to heavyweights that had superstars wanting to play for him and here you come with that dribble. Filth

His tenure at saints will certainly prove one of you right.
He’s admitted to not having much of a plan recruitment wise after the GF - when we got Dugan , SJ, Moylan etc. He had a lot of help with Mooney and we were lucky Ennis and Maloney became available.

So depends if the right players comes along but get the feeling he’s going to grab the first semi decent player that becomes available. It’ll improve them but could be a slow burn.

Won’t help it seems Hunt will only be around a year

Flanno took us from nowhere to a premiership - that is fact - with some excellent recruitment .

A few poor decisions after that - but you can’t get them all correct ..

LOL, “a few poor decisions”. I mean I love Flanno as much as anyone, but what happened was a bit more serious than “a few poor decisions”.

Regardless, he’s served his well earned time for it and im happy for him that he’s back in the coaching ranks, its a pity its for the ******** in St George, but a jobs a job.

The premiership overrides everything - in my opinion ..

Mooney never gets any of the credit he deserves for that team

Would we take the premiership knowing what was to come? Probably everyone would

Would we prefer he not do the other **** (especially emailing when not allowed because that is not oversight it's just blatantly dumb). Yeah.
Yep 100%. I don’t really care about our image etc..

I just want to win. Some supporters obviously care more about things which is fine.
Maybe would have had more chance of winning further if we hadn't been fined, cap restricted, and lost our coach.

Although...

Broadly speaking probably not, on here I think he gets recognised quite a bit.
Mooney didn't even sign the likes of Dugan, Johnson or Moylan! (although he did extend him)

Sort of. Would you be saying that if what happened directly affected the legality of our premiership? We’re quite lucky neither the ASADA stuff or the cap breach didn’t give grounds to take it away from us.

Wow. Lucky you don’t work in marketing.

Brand image might not be important to the average rusted on joe blow supporter, but it’s a big deal for Cronulla in the corporate world and attracting new sponsors and supporters. It is possible to both win and not trash your public image.

The current board has done a pretty reasonable job in cleaning up most of the mud that was stuck to us after ASADA and the cap breaches.

1 Comp in 58 years. Shows we can’t do both.

Our breach was very small compared to not only Melbourne - but also Manly and Parra. - not to mention the dozens of offenses from other clubs that have drawn fines - dating right back to Canberra in the nineties ..

No we can’t. Not with this squad. We’re so far off it’s not even funny. Really confused how some of you don’t see it.
Brisbane were a long way off last season when it mattered, much closer this one.

Improvements and changes needed for sure, but we aren't the furthest team from very seriously competing.
Trick is to find that next step and unfortunately easier said than done.

What was the main thing which got Broncos to next level? Arguably getting an attacking weapon in Walsh at a discount.
A kiss on the dick like that for us would help certainly make a difference. In the meantime there's stuff we need to fix ourselves.

Well no one is in the next season or two regardless. Penrith have this league on lockdown for a bit longer and there’s not really anyone can do about it in the short term, except maybe Brisbane. Doesn’t mean we should resort to finding ways to cheat, I know you haven’t directly suggested that but that’s not what your implying is it?
