If Fitz does nothing else to improve this team he has to sort out the discipline , that first half was a F#$KEN disgrace , i know the ref didn't help but Jesus we are piss poor at giving away penalties and 6 agains and dropping the ball , game after game .
The one constant when we put in a poor performance is the amount of penalties , 6 agains and dropped ball we give opposition teams which invites them onto our line , sort this out and we become 100% more competitive .

I think the middle rotation is wrong.

Finucane, McInnes and Williams were our 3 middles from minutes 30-50. That includes a tired Dale playing the full first half. It's too small.

I also feel that minutes 30-50 are prime time for your big impact benchies as they can rip and tear at 110% with a breather in between. Hazleton or Hunt should have come on for Dale during this period. If they are going strong, it also allows the option to bring one of the impact guys back at the death.

Too many minutes in the legs of the smaller guys IMO.

Agreed. I didn't understand why Finucane stayed on so long while Hazelton played maybe 15 minutes total.
From here, it looks like he's using the Fittler/Stuart rotation blueprint.

He played 19. If he can do that in one stint, I think he could easily do 30 if split by half time.

We are lucky they had the middle injuries they did today. But its sad we still got outmuscled given the circumstances.

I thought he mentioned working on defence after the warriors hiding ?
No team can defend against another NRL side by giving up that much ball, followed by leg up penalties. We overplayed our hand in attack and shot ourselves in the foot by following up early tackle errors with penalties.

All manly had to do was stroll through the door. No amount of tackling bag practice will fix that.

Any feedback from the presser?
1. He wasn't happy with the lack of energy to start the game.
2. For the first time I can remember - he critised the ref (for the first half penalties)
3. Said once we started moving up in defence and running hard we realised we could score points
4. Looking forward to the challenge against the Panthers. Agreed with jurno that Penrith won't let us back in if we start with the energy again.

Damn, why didn't we think of that?!

I thought he mentioned working on defence after the warriors hiding ?

I just watched both 2 most recent pressers. He did mention working on defense after Warriors and said they would be doing alot of it during the week.... did Sifa really get dropped at the last minute or did they know all week.... ? Late changes would not have helped

BUT we can talk about bench rotation, selections ect, halves it doesn't matter our line defense is just flat out crap and has been for 18 months. It was reasonably solid the first third to half of 2022 but has gone backwards since.

Interestingly in both pressers he mentioned lack of energy and you know what that right there is the essence of the post Flanno era's

No energy, no intensity, no attitude - blokes just been in casual cruise control since Sir Shane departed

Need a crate of concrete and red bull these fellas
