Seems we just didn't have another plan when things weren't working.

We forget he’s only coached 8 NRL games, one off the bench. He’s still learning his craft. Needs a controlling type next to him to take the pressure off.

He'd want to be careful, we have a career caretaker coach in the box......

Doubt it, I reckon he only leaves Penrith for a HC role.
I know he and Fitz had this 'dream' to work alongside one another.
However he said he'd honour his Panthers contract which runs till end of this season.
Who knows, im still hopeful

Not many desirable starting gigs on offer next year you'd think. I don't know that he'd want to be the next in the Panthers coaching staff queue for the Bulldogs

I know he lives in the area but other than that I don't know why he'd leave such a successful club like Penrith for anything other than a HC gig.

Probably depends on what becomes available. Fitzy passed on a couple of opportunites then picked Cronulla, Cirauldo may not want to jump at the first opportunity he gets.

I think Fitz is just being realistic, it would be naive to suggest we weren't going to have challenges and hic ups along the way

It's actually kinda impressive he can be so calm and measured publicly about his team as it may be tempting to get stuck into them a bit (which he may well do away from the cameras).

All teams are gunna have a bad game or 2 and the it's a long season for the players and coaches with much to learn.
Unless you are Panthers or Storm, they are just freakish clubs at present but even they have had poor halves of footy where they have been challenged are are well below their best.

We don't seem to respond as well as some other teams post half time.

At some point teams were going to find ways to adapt and counter our attack and challenge and make us do more in defense. The Broncos did an excellent job of it and our plans and execution weren't up to scratch to deal with it nor our energy levels.

Be thankful we don't have a stubborn coach like Sticky who will keep beating his head against the wall until something works.
We have still had our best start to a season in a long time. Fitz needs a full season or 2 before we really start laying down judgement on his abilities

Yeah that's fair. I think this year was always going to be about building for the next two years, I think some (including me) maybe getting a bit carried away after our better-than-expected start to the year.

I think that is the case - expectations being raised after a good start. We now expect Storm or Panthers-like performance from our team every week. I believe we will get there but not yet. This is a process and a journey and the worst thing we can do is to be reactive to every little change and hiccup without analyzing it properly.

I agree with all the above comments. I am happy to give Fitz plenty of time - we are a top 8 team at the moment, still not consistent enough to be top 4 even though that is where we are.

It's been said many times on here by others on where we need to improve - last tackle plays, goalkicking, minimising errors etc.

I'm really enjoying how we are playing despite last week's loss - although if anyone things the next game against the Warriors is going to be easy then they need to think again.

But who of the other teams, other than Storm and Panthers, are?

We are definitely in the mix for top 4.

Probably in the mix for sure HB but just not used to discussing us in that area.

Still too early to say we are going to finish there for sure.
