Maybe it's just confirmation bias, but I feel like we are the worst in the NRL at getting blockers in the way. It feels like other teams have a free run to contest our fullback, and when we are attacking we are constantly running into brick walls. When we do try to get someone there in defence, its usually Ramien running the clearest escort of all time. It's funny how all our much taller escorts like Ramien & Ronnie manage to get their in time to surround Tracey and offer some protection before he takes the high ball against a much taller attacking player but they are so stuck in "brick wall pretending to keep eyes on the ball not the player" mode that if Tracey drops it gets out jumped they arn't in a position to offer much assistance.
If Ronnie gets there in time he should just call for it ha ha or at least go behind Tracey in case he gets out jumped
I know this will go very wrong at some point though lol I just hate seeing defenders stand around stuck in the mud pretending not to escort and leaving their fullback on their own. I get it's the plan though and they train to defend the high ball this way.
Poor bugger didn't get much help either. Most teams would have a few block players getting in the road. The likes of Cleary, Reynolds and Johnson will use their kicking game to embarrass Tracey in his positioning.
I don’t mean that as a knock on Connor, the guy is our 3rd/4th choice fullback and doing a better job than I think most would have expected but if Kennedy’s hamstring is 100% then I think he should come back into the side.
Yeah no doubt he tries hard, but he's definitely shaky under the high ball when it's a torp, and is getting easily outjumped when it's contested. It's obviously a game plan to have him in the line more, but I think a good 7 is going to exploit this hard by kicking in behind regularly.
Hamstring injury is a bitch for Will. I have a feeling we might see a strapped up Tracey this week, and have the potential for Will to be back week 2 if all goes well.
Fitz said not a hammy. He ‘jammed up’ his knee and they hadn’t determined yet if it was anything or nothing2 weeks for even the slightest of Hamstring strains would be the bare minimum you would think , but they may throw the dice ..
Whatever I can get is my answerSo in summary, you blokes prefer tall escorts, but short ones are better than nothing?
I was talking about Manu !Fitz said not a hammy. He ‘jammed up’ his knee and they hadn’t determined yet if it was anything or nothing
Ah!I was talking about Manu !
“anything will do”So in summary, you blokes prefer tall escorts, but short ones are better than nothing?
Haha and to double down I was talking about Kennedy's hammy.Fitz said not a hammy. He ‘jammed up’ his knee and they hadn’t determined yet if it was anything or nothing
If they earn $400k+ a year they would want to be dam good at escorting. So in summary, you blokes prefer tall escorts, but short ones are better than nothing?
Save the forum until after I’ve had coffee when not getting enough sleep, got itHaha and to double down I was talking about Kennedy's hammy.
Our lack of support around Tracey was more of a concern IMO. One on one between playerWill Kennedy wouldn't have done any better than Tracey for the first Raiders try. In fact, I don't think we have a player in firsts or reggies that could do any better...
Ronnie has a good jump on himWill Kennedy wouldn't have done any better than Tracey for the first Raiders try. In fact, I don't think we have a player in firsts or reggies that could do any better...
True, but he's not a fullback's ********, so not an option and also shorter that Rapana too I think?Ronnie has a good jump on him
Ah ok you just mean fullbacks, fair enough.True, but he's not a fullback's ********, so not an option and also shorter that Rapana too I think?
