Royce Hunt played 5 minutes of ball in play in the first half at 60% possession, and 8 minutes at 55% in the second half.
There are about 165 minutes of ball in play time to share across your middles. As soon as the NRL allows ten on the bench so teams can share those middles minutes across 13 different blokes, I’ll agree that Royce Hunt is indeed un-droppable.
Until that rule change comes in to effect, Royce is just a guy who plays really well in a limited role when the team dominates possession. Sometimes having the guy is great. Sometimes it hurts you. In a perfect world, he’s #17 so you have the option to use him or not.
Tom can play that role or a worker role, so that versatility puts him in front of Hunt imo.
