i knew what you meant i just couldnt help myself. since a lot of out shifts happen on 3 and 4 is he in position for the sweep play when the ball gets shifted or his he stuck in the middle playing no part in the sweep?

we are trying to compare him to paps, tedesco, tommy who are for any generation freaks in their position

Yeah I mentioned this a few weeks ago, by far the biggest weakness of Kennedy is his support play

There's chances to be made in the middle and against the good teams in the big games you need every opportunity you can get

Can't coach against broken play like that, all the good teams push up and it's an area he definitely needs to improve on

Yeah I did consider that about being on the sweeps. I guess its not hurting I just think we lack a bit of support up the guts.

A reason I am big on McInnes as 13, he's switched on for a good hooker run so likely to be sniffing around to back up Brailey.
Runs hard and fast enough to make a break of it and finish it off or find a Hynes or Kennedy as next man up supporting.

A good compromise for Kennedy not playing through the middle allowing him to be in better position for those sweep backline plays.

I like McInness at lock because it allows an extra dimension in the attack as well by having a ball playing lock.
Only need to look at Penrith with Yeo and Souths (2021) with Murray to see how effective it is.

Plus McInnis is an 80 minute dynamo who just gives 110% constantly

I do agree but he also ups the tempo when he comes on after the 25 minute mark.

There was a guy @ Wigan in the SL who opitimised what Pap does now - Kris Radlinski.
Every drive Wigan took he was there in support and would push up through the line incase someone got a hand free or made a half break so that he was there in support.
Its a skill in its own no doubt, but when done correctly leads to so many line breaks and tries simply through putting themselves in the right position at the right time

Every drive Wigan took he was there in support and would push up through the line incase someone got a hand free or made a half break so that he was there in support.

Hated McGuire lol
But thats me as St.Helens lad - broke my heart too many times in grand finals.
Both McGuire and Burrow were always in support of their domiant pack

It's not just Pap, its the whole melbourne spine. When Nelson runs Grant and Smith a falling over each other to take the offload or scoot on the back of his PTB. Hughes and Munster are always supporting too. Those are the little effort plays that make Bellamy the amazing coach he is.

I have noticed McInnes trying to do it a bit off brailey though which is nice to see. WK needs to take a leaf out of his book.
