I'd go for Garth Brennan. Gus and Cleary have huge raps on him.

id take brown.

but the whole coaching staff needs an over haul. a class halves/kicking coach, a defensive coach and a real tactician.

and trainders that arent calling the shots (not that i believe flannos drivble about him saying to let gal choose)

Why?

Brown is a chance. I'm not convinced he would really buy into the Club though. Very St George. Also been sounded out for other, more glamourous roles. Certainly someone to check out though.

Didn't he almost play for us at one stage? I can vaguely remember something about him almost signing during the Super League war. He may have actually even signed on and then reneged or something. I think there was some kind of weird story there, like a lot of what happened around the SL era.

Of course that has very little to do with today. Just an aside.

We have a winner , with Potter and/or Shepard as his assistant .
Price is poo too .

Here are some names:

Garth Brennan. Ex Newcastle NYC, current Panthers reserves coach. Narrowly missed the Newcastle job to Stone. Super record in the lower grades over the last few years.

Terry Matterson. Current Titans assistant. Has been an assistant for a long time and coached Castleford for an extended period in the ESL. Rated highly by Bennett. Somewhat similar in resume and demeanour to Brad Arthur.

Jason Demetriou. Current assistant at the Cowboys. Won everything there was to win with the Pride last year in the Qld Cup. Also the Qld Residents coach. A journeyman player and started coaching young in England soon after he retired. It might be a bit early for him but I really think he's a gem. Well spoken, passionate, friendly type who coaches a tough but open brand of footy. Think Graham Murray.

I don't think we need to go for a proven failure. I would entertain the possibility of Sheens if there was a succession plan in place. Brown would have to be considered but really its time for fresh blood.

Opposites in terms of quality of posts right here

just curious here, with Nathan Brown what is good about him?

I just remember his time at the Dragons and it wasn't the best. I'm not being a smart ass or anything just curious all the sudden everyone wants him to coach?

i agree egg Potter is a great coach great track record until the Tigers, he happened to be the right guy at the wrong place at the wrong time, and Shep could take over for the rest of the year as he did last year.

We cant afford any more stuff ups it has been way to costly Since Ando and Ricky now Flanno.

Still think we need a Gould or Sheens or a Smith, possibly Warren Ryan to overview the club as CEO and or coaching co-ordinator would also love to have Joey Johns as a 1/2 coach He has Coached more than one a halfback a year.

But the Superleague is a big step behind from the skill level of the NRL.

Wouldn't mind Brown slapping Gal like he did to Barrett.
Worth a punt anyway. Wouldn't be any worse than flanno.

I'd prefer to take a chance on someone like brown compared to just promoting from within.

I must admit Brown did bring up alot of juniors to when he was at the Dragons.

Still wouldnt mind seeing Shep have a go.
