We're nearing the end of our premiership window, but, never say never

Trying to look at it objectively.

Why we can't:
- Ennis leaving
- 2016 was very lucky from an injury point of view

Why we can:
- We were no fluke. We were the best team in the comp for the current rules.
- It'd be just like the Sharks to double up after 50 years of nothing.
- I reckon the team will still be hungry and will be more relaxed and actually be able to put more points on. Don't forget this was our first year for very key combinations!

We're equal 4th in the odds for 2017. Paying $9.

And Titans massively under rated.

Weird odds.

That was from Sportsbet. I didn't check on any of the other sites.

To add to what you said I think Souths are overrated on that list too.

And I thought Raiders would be above Penrith & NZ

Good point about the combos -Barba, Chad and Maloney won't have any teething issues. A new hooker is going to mean some new combos but hopefully our halves step up a bit more. If we keep a similar team our defensive structures will be rock solid, everyone will know there roles etc.

At the start of this year, I thought we'd go well this year, but we would get the Premiership in 2017.

Then Ennis announced his retirement, and it was now or never.

Not much has changed apart from Ennis, if we can replace him nicely, I can't see #whynotus #again

To win next year we need a good young prop to do some hard yards alongside aging forward pack.... or Gals to play prop to make use of Bukuya and Capewell.
Need one of Cherrington//Brown//Brailey to step up massively to replace some of what Ennis brought.
And probably Chad to improve a bit to cover some of this loss also.

Big and controversial call.... need Barba to England, Holmes to fullback. Feel bad saying it, especially where we are at and what's just happened, but I think value for money Barba won't be worth it going forward vs Holmes at fullback. Happy to be wrong on this one though! And I'm saying send him to England because I don't want to play against him...

Interested if anyone else agrees with my thoughts on Barba?

I'm pretty sure Barba, Holmes and Bird are all off contract at the end of next season.

So lets say we can only fit 2 out of the 3 in, who would everyone pick?

I love Benny and what he has done for us, but based on age id take Holmes and Bird.
