Thanks Braden. It's nice to know someone has been paying attention to the graphs.

"I didn’t really notice how much he was doing. I think it’s because he was still running the ball. Usually when you do more defence you are not as effective with the ball but he was still running it.

“We got off at full-time and I heard someone say '81' and I was like ‘is that how much possession they had?’ and they said, ‘no that’s how many tackles Cam made,” Hamlin-Uele told media on Tuesday.

Funny, but i don't think his brain works like that. It would have been like letting a border collie thats been kept inside, outside on a farm with sheep. He'll come back in but you know he just wants to be out there. Bloke went and pushed a pram around the zoo the next day 🤣
Edit* not sure what happened there, but you make a good point @Sharkfox 🤣

was thinking same thing as you and… sharkfox

McInnes ain’t normal
Not only did he back up the most ever amount of efforts in and NRL game with a zoo trip pushing a double pram… he put just 2 hours sleep in between them to watch cricket all night

He could be the only footballer to show brain recovery when he stops playing

Remember reading he scored a 96 atar leaving school.

Just proves how much of a psycho he really is haha. Just loves what he does.

So it turns out Cam's effort vs the Panthers is only the *second best I've seen this year...

Prior to stepping down from coaching this year, I had a player make 46 tackles in a 60 minute game. Just for shits and giggles, I threw that player's effort in to the model to see how it compared to Cam.

Here are the results. I threw in a couple of other comparisons I've modelled this season in terms of output and ball in play. Note that 100 is about average for an NRL middle, 120 is a good score and 150 is outstanding.

Turns out 46 in 60 actually models higher because NRL games have a much higher percentage of ball in play than local u14's games (who'd have thought? :))

* Obviously this is tongue in cheek. I don't actually think a 14yo player is as better than Cameron McInnes. This, like almost everything I do on here... is just an exercise in curiosity. Actually, the more surprising thing I learned from this is that despite all of the things they do to maximise it, NRL games only have 11% more ball in play time than u14's (68% vs 57%).

So Burgo.
Its it ever possible for our forward pack to achieve these numbers ALL IN ONE GAME TOGETHER to give us a slim chance of a W?

Please???

Well technically we don't want them making lots of tackles, so the best score in the model correlated with wins would be 0.

We kick off, they drop it, and we score on every set after that.

In real life though.. ideally you want every player scoring under 100 unless they are playing very low minutes. They are busy, but not so busy that they are rooted when you get the ball. Low minute players you want to see redlining though.
