Sorry mate, I hate drugs of any kind and I have seen what it has done to friends and family. Yes, it is my opinion and I'll stick to it.

OK mate, maybe you didn't actually say you condoned it but I thought that seemed the implication. Apologies if it wasn't. I didn't see where ASADA was mentioned.
Not trying to change your mind. Just providing context for why people might disagree. Institute of health states 47% of people over 14 in the country have taken an illicit drug at some point in their life.

Disappointing sure but need to be realistic, especially with young blokes & footy players - doesn't mean our club is in crisis or has fundamental flaws or Tricky should be banished. There are genuine dirt bags in the game that have come back from worse incidents. Tricky seems a good guy who made a blue, we all stuff things up at some point.

We are outraged cause we are fans of the club/sport or take offense to his actions but it's something literally hundreds of kids will be doing this weekend. It's kinda just how humans and society are - having rules in place doesn't really change that.
I'm more concerned with the utter stupidity. At least Val, Cheese and Munster had the common sense to stay home

Yeah he is ****ed either way.. poor kid
I’m a fan of his too, very disappointed and upset for us (and him)

I do hope it’s not the end and that we can help him through this crisis in the background

not sure if Fitz will put up with having him back in the side thou But a question for another day perhaps

I can see how you might have thought that now after reading it again.. It didn't sound that way when typed it though.. haha

I think this is more if it was picked up by in house testing. I don't think a first time chance will fly for failing a police test whilst driving.
I’m just saying NRL gives out warnings for first timers which means they are aware it’s a society issue and not so harsh on it for a first timer.

The DUI is stupid for sure but I don’t think it’s as bad as some people are making it out to be tbh

Could be a blessing in disguise for him

Yeah I was thinking the same, but I think this is a bit different. Even Poctor/Brom got a 4 week ban just for using/buying it. Driving is going to be worse.

We probably have the money to bring Chad back.

It's a little tongue in cheek, but a few things align

My guess is that he hopped behind the wheel of someone else's car, maybe someone who was even more wiped out than him.

Yep. It's what he's alleged to have taken is concerning the most.

You watch all the news articles bring up the Sharks and Asada again!!!
Thats what pisses me off the most, getting called drugos or drug cheats 😅

I’m pretty sure he has the suspended license from a previous DUI

So this will be second DUI in close proximity, possibly under the influence of drugs too, and on his suspended license.

The courts aren’t going to take him lightly and neither will the NRL. I think he’s going to be hit hard, I hope not but I can’t see it being just a few week’s suspension

I don’t think its unrealistic for young men who have access to the education and help that highly paid professional footballers do to stay away from illegal activities. Boys will be boys doesn’t wash anymore and I’m tired of some people (not referring to your good self or sharkstragic) just shrugging their shoulders and accept that these young men will be making these kind of mistakes that they shouldn’t be making.

I agree that doing an illicit drug (alleged) at or around a work function (post game drinks) isn't the most professional thing or good look for the club but no one even knows about it if he gets a lift home.

If we are worried about it not being professional then we should hold to account all the Lawyers, Bankers, Doctors ect. that get caught with the stuff in their system too but they aren't in the public eye or 'role models' necessarily.

Would be nice to think Tricky as a NRL & Sharks representative is above this sort of thing for the sake of integrity and professionalism but end of the day he had some drinks and is just a human like everyone else. The kids that watch the footy will eventual grow up and come to relise the realities at some point in the future.

Alcohol, smokes, gambling are all legal and people drive like total fwits on the road drunk or not everyday and nothing is done about it - just sayen this sorta thing always feels like kinda a cop out / optics play the way society and the law interacts with this sorta thing.
