Now I know I talk this kid up but I just have to say..even though we know his attack/creativeness is good his defence this year has been incredible.

The try savers, the one on ones, the clean ups from kicks, the edge defence.

well done
Having him the team means we aren't playing catch up every single game.

Omg the amount of Moylan lovers we had to extinguish was almost worse then the Chadurbators we had to squash

The trauma of seeing them in the line-up each week was too much

Shout out to Fitz for finally getting it right and now we’re sitting at the top of the table 💋

Watched his every move in a replay. For a spine player he appears barely adequate from what he has peddled thus far as a 24 year old with 56 1st grade games - waiting for the "wow" that others must have seen in lower grades. Don't see this bloke as a leader of men aka Gallen, Ennis, Mahoney etc.

I'm not sure if you're taking the piss but he is performing / developing perfectly.

If you want to go and spend another mil on another leader in the halves good luck with the rest of the team.

Perfectly feels a little generous.

He’s behind where I’d hoped he’d be by now - and I don’t think that’s fully because he’s only just established in first grade. Regularly was underwhelming or only decent for Jets.
If he didn’t play as well as he could because it’s reserves that’s a negative on him imo, not an excuse.

I don’t see the elite game manager 7 some seem to. Could be as a lot of that is verbal and doesn’t show up on tv.

He’s developing okay imo
I def agree he’s decent value and splashing there creates issues elsewhere

I guess I never watched him in lower grades so maybe me expectations on his ceiling aren't as high as some.

I see a hard working half who rips in and takes pressure for Hynes, scoring a few tries here and there for his efforts.

That all seems fair, and should keep ticking along in the right direction as he keeps playing.

just a reminder that this is Trickys first full season as a starter (and in a different position at 6 then he’s used to at 7)

Compare it to Brailey, Kennedy, Ronaldo’s trajectory he’s doing just fine.

He will have ups and downs but already he’s adding more value to the team as a whole then Moylan, you take that and run especially while it’s on a cheap salary

He could be leading the Dally M’s and the Moylan brigade would still find fault.

Our first place right now is worth as much as 2nd in 2022 until we knock off some good sides.

We have beaten good sides already this season it's just we haven't played the very best sides - that will be out test (especially away from home)

Last 2 seasons we struggled to beat any team in Top 4 even Top 8 at times but we are already showing we are far more capable against teams above middle of the road or dregs. Warriors, Raiders and Cows are lower on the ladder than they otherwise would be thanks to us defeating them.

Get some wins against the likes of the Storm, Dolphins, Brissy and Panthers and we really can start to believe we can maybe do something this year, at least get through a couple weeks of finals.

As for Tricky, I don't think he needs to be a leader out there, we have a bunch of those already. I wouldn't even call him a dominant player maker like a Maloney but Tricky doesn't have to stand outside Chad Townsend. He has Nicho Hynes next to him so I feel the dynamic is rather different and that might effect how the combos play out.

I kind of disagree because we’ve beaten some heavyweights that we struggle with

The complete performances and way we’ve won is different too..

2022 was a soft draw and we sht the bed against stronger teams - Moylan was always a handbrake for me but with tricky I don’t see much weakness

You may well be right. It's just too early for me to say that yet. I think the Warriors was a good win, but it was round 1. Raiders and cows we were good, but they both shat the bed.

I just want to see us win a game against a side that's really humming. Till we do that I won't feel like we're a worthy top 4 side.

Plenty of opportunities to do so in the next two months.

I’m with ya.

Early days but good signs.

I think we have 3 tough teams back to back to back coming up..let’s see

The whole team is adding more as a team, which is definitely taking the pressure off. Hopefully that's the recipe for a well done Trindall.

(Interesting fact - the Trindalloo is actually one if the most requested dishes in the Toup kitchen)

OK the fact he has charged has been confirmed, but I ask you to PLEASE still be careful with what you say.

Let's stick to the football ramifications of it, and avoid assuming guilt on any aspects of it.

He’s clearly going to be stood down at the very least, possibly worse.

Some serious charges there, especially while holding a suspended license
