Sure he fumbled that ball that lead to a try but seriously his one on one defence on the tryline was pretty good. He and Talakai are forming a better defensive partnership than old mate.

When he got the chance to kick, there's was one kick that got us out of our end. I am not sure why Hynes is taking all the kicks when Trindall has a decent boot.

Shame that we throw everything on one half in attack.
I get that Hynes has a poor game, but Trindall currently leads the team in errors. Is giving him more ball the answer?

Let’s see him nail the job he’s actually been given before deciding he’s ready for a bigger one.

That’s his shirt number, Hynes or the coaches fault
Couldn’t be his - he played 7 reasonably well at a Cup level!

Surely if your main man is having an off game, you need your number 2 to try to step up and take some of the heat to look for a way out of the hole that’s been dug……..

otherwise you just throw your hands in the air halfway during a game and accept that it’s a lost cause there and then.

Snarky comment. You should also read above .

or are you both accepting to take the loss for that game and not try to fight your way back?

Errors aren’t great, however I don’t think he’s been super poor in any of those areas.

What’s most concerning is the lack of cohesion in attack.

I agree that when the main man is having an off game the other twelve players need to find a way to get the job done. I just don't agree it means Robin should try to be Batman.

Did Trindall not step up? Had almost as many touches when usually has far less

If he did not step up, why?
Special instructions to not be involved much from coach? Because he knows he can’t? Tried to but failed?

It’s snarky comment because simply saying swap their shirt numbers achieves nothing. Kicks still go out on full from both.

The chances Trindall can just pick this team up and run with it but chooses not to, or hasn’t been told to, seems slim.

Read further above where Burgo points out he has our most errors. When he chooses or is told to step up do these disappear? How? Why doesn’t he turn them off now?

Concerns about Fitz are valid but if he’s just telling our number 6 stay out of the way every game no matter what he should be sacked immediately. If trindall could play better but chooses not to because he either doesn’t or does want Nicho to look bad he should be sacked too.

Just FYI it’s Hynes that leads the team in errors not Trindall

By more ball I mean more kicking duties.

Besides this round, I don't think he's been less than average. He's helped tighten the defence, it's just the attack we need to see come together, and I think it will cause last year he looked the goods.

I measure errors differently than how they do. E.g. winger gets an un-catchable pass but gets a finger on it is not an error for the winger. It's on the passer. For a half, I also consider kicking ootf or kicking dead by lots or without the chasers getting near it an error.

In any case Nicho's tally from last night might have pipped him :ROFLMAO:

Too many errors from both Sharks halves has been an issue.

And just giving the one guy having marginally less errors from less touches more touches isn’t an obvious solution

Better awareness/attitude turn that result around more than moving 10 touches from Nicho to Trindall would have

I think most people that kicking is his best asset and he should be close to 50/50 kicking duties with Nicho. That was the case last night, but Trindall did more of the short ones and Nicho the long.

Defence has been solid too.

I've never liked Trindall as a left side attacking player. Still not convinced. Best he's looked is against the Bulldogs when they switched sides for some attacking sets.

Fair enough, I'm not a believer in halves playing in specific sides either.

You keep repeating yourself.. the problem = Hynes being too erratic, uses way too much energy and reckless when at 7

Potential solution = Hynes sits back a little, and picks moments more selectively

All we know is the problem it’s all we’ve ever seen, maybe you’re right in saying what you think but maybe you’re also dead wrong, there is nothing wrong with people suggesting another way for a structure that we’ve seen has major deficiencies especially with tough teams time and time again

If that's the problem this could be a potential solution. There are many ways to skin it which don't require loading up Tricky with more responsibilities though. Maybe Brailey or WK start doing more, maybe Cam starts playing like Radley/Jurbo to take some pressure off the halves. Maybe Fitz has decided that right now the best thing for Tricky is to just do his job and not worry about everyone else.

Yeah repeating myself in response to the same thing being repeated…

I could be right or I could be dead wrong.
You could be right or you could be dead wrong.

Nothing wrong with people suggesting things, nothing wrong with people responding to those suggestions.

You say the structure has major deficiencies, I say making the other guy who isn’t going any better more important is no clear path to victory.

A lot of teams lose to tough teams time and time again. We don’t want to do it but it’s a fact of the NRL.

If a structure does not work time and time again, it is not the players within it, it’s the structure that should be worked.

It’s to the point where sharks are openly called pretenders now

Agreeing with you or not isnt important but I would be open to solutions that prevent the same mistakes we get with Hynes main character syndrome

A structure not working could definitely be the players imo

Trindall was hopeless.. has been for the first three games in my opinion. Need more from a half then defence.
Yeah, it looks like it’s abit of a different Tricky this year so far

Who knows why
