Think that was preferred last year except when injuries struck. Trindall typically only preferred to Cauldron and Hazelton

I was 50/50 which I thought was better leading into last season. After seeing how he struggled to slot into the role though I feel strongly he will get more from 80 minute gigs at lower level than NRL bench duty.
Cronk, Hunt etc. were playing meaningful roles off the bench with a plan. Trindall hasn't been.
I'm honestly surprised someone like the dogs didn't try to pick him up as competition for Flanno. He'd be pretty easily the best back up half in the comp.
He was good when the Sharks had the ball. Was pretty ordinary in defence, but there was a lot of chop and change there at the end so that can be forgiven.
Cheers mate. Unfortunately I never notice the defence until I see a replay on who missed what tackle. Not being brought up on League and how defences work, it's a bit lost on me.
How many good halves in the history of the game are known for their defence? Especially in recent years?

Defence and tackling are not the same thing. In general Trindall is a good tackler and he misses very few when defending in the middle. His positioning and reads on the edge up not up to scratch for the NRL. At least they weren't on Sunday. Again though, I'll forgive him. It was a chop/change 20 minutes and he had a 21yo middle forward playing second row next to him.
