Defn should have been the second game. Slap into the face of the guys who just played 30 rounds of football, compared to the womens comp who just played 3 rounds of 60 mins to make a Grand final.

I'm all for them promoting the women's game but they should have the National Championship game second

That's the kicker for me, it's one thing to say JetsvBears is reserve grade and NRLW is first grade but the ladies grand final isn't based off a proper season.
If the comp isn't in a place where it can run a full length season then it isn't it a place where it is the second best comp.

The Woman's game is a growth area though, Men's Reserve Grade isn't. I wish reserve grade/non NRL comps had a higher profile and potential but it is what it is and that is to the detriment of everyone unfortunately.

It's also easy PR for a sport that has had challenges with it's perception of and relationship to Women

Promoting The Woman's game in the Woke 'insert current year' political correct obsessed environment we sadly live in is almost unavoidable. It was always gunna come along in some way, shape or form.

To the NRLs credit, even if it can feel at times that this stuff is shoved down your throat they have not been as heavy handed or cynical as many other organisations when it comes to this sort of thing. I feel there is a genuine desire to make this a success and bring in new fans/revenue opposed to just ticking the corporate governance box and saying "look how inclusive we are".

As much as a joke as things like a 1 month 4 team comp, a Womens SOO series with faux importance and passion ect. the game's are half entertaining at least, prob cause they can't tackle half the time or move laterally so there's more space and line breaks to exploit. sometimes the skills put on are pretty solid and sometimes it is embarrassing looking more like a under 12's game. The game is also ALOT slower.

I'm ok to let it ride and play out, nothing against some Women wanting to enjoy their competitive sport and build it's profile along with their own.

but as soon as they start screaming inequality and for equal pay as the mens all my respect, patience and good will for the Women's game will evaporate. They need to earn that, not be gifted it

That's fine, they know not everyone is interested.
I've watched a few games when they have been on at the right time and can appreciate it for what it is, but wouldn't go out of my way to watch.

Still think the BIA needs to be implemented to avoid this

I watched part of the origin game this year, it wasn't that bad.

But in saying that, it wasnt bad for a WOMENS game.

The teams wouldnt stand up against even the Harold Mats teams.

I enjoyed the game on Sunday, wasn't bad at all.

Don't make the mistake of comparing it to something else, it is what it is.

Exactly, it is what it is.

But the NRL push it like it going to be some high tv rating game.

Just let it be what it is.

I don't think they do this, they're just promoting the game.

The more women getting into the game, the better.

I assume there is a body within the NRL for women's comp? They should get off their backsides and find sponsors for their comp. FFS all those multi-billion $ cosmetic/hygiene companies, eg Revlon Cup or Libra Cup etc. The NRL barely has any money to put into junior male football let alone female football.

I'm still filthy at the NRL regarding the treatment of Cronulla and South Sydney in relation to the women's game (and the elevation of an undeserving Sydney City).

So they can get ****ed.

Unfortunate for the women involved but I'm not buying in.

If they want to promote it & get people watching it then they should include more teams in the comp rather then start off as a 4 team comp, it's not going to get huge numbers if it's only a very small comp with limited teams.

It's just the start mate, it will grow.
