My mum has a really great story about him and he was an absolute legend according to her and my niece.

I have heard a few **** stories too, but i at least have proof that he is a pretty decent guy.

Defusing kicks and positional play. Tackling shouldn't be an issue for the fullback, most tackles fullbacks make are cover tackles anyway and that doesn't take a great tackler (look at Isaac Gordon). When the player is running straight at the fullback generally the goal is to force an error not tackle the bloke.

I think you will find that the majority of tackles Flash has made at fullback are one on one straight at him up the middle, not cover tackles. Lazy marker defense or poor lateral movement from our forwards, whatever the reason it is not uncommon to witness this occur to us. Not putting the damper on things but whoever we play at fullback we need to accept at some stages they are going to have a big mofo running straight at them one on one and they are going to need to slow them down somehow.

apparently no other Nrl team is interested, maybe we can sign him cheap for the rest of the year.
if he plays well we offer him another contract if not. we have not lost to much cash.

Not every club is going to publicly declare their interest even if they are - it's all part of the recruitment game and the smoke and mirrors
To say no other team other than the Sharks is interested or would even at least consider Marshall is a bit far fetched

I bet you Phil Gould would blow a milky load over having Benji next to Soward at Panthers as I don't think Wallace is signed up for much longer...

My mother in law use to know his mum and has met him a few times and said nothing but good things about him

Well looking at the Dally M table today, and seeing that Gal is our 2nd rated player (on 2 pts) with only 1 & 3/4 games to his name this year, I just dont see we can afford to not be seriously considering any talented player.
Give him this year on the cheap and next on decent coin and if it doesnt work out off to Japan he goes.
If we can get something out of him and he comes half good we'll be on a winner, not to mention the press, tv coverage, sponsors etc.,

and if we do him a good turn now he may even repay us in kind like that fifita bloke did... :p

**** it just sign him. He is an upgrade on robson and robson is an upgrade on de goose.

i think he will struggle at fullback. him and todd in the halves.

We will need to score **** loads of tries cause our defence will be screwed

Need to get rid of degois if we end up signing benji. Robbo can still offer direction from hooker

He could potentially be the best bloke at the club.
Phew. That is the main thing.

Seriously though, sign him up, and let's score some points and get some sponsors. He can't play fullback though, can't be last line of defence.

So, how do we get this done? What's the process from here? 48 hrs or 48 days? :p

Seriously though, what happens? Do we contact Benji's management, or do they contact us?
Make an offer, agree to terms and then have it ratified by the NRL. Is that how it works?

Is it just me that thinks benji is faster than carney?
Also wouldnt it be great if he signs and degois gets an offer from overseas and ask for a release so we can still upgrade holmes and by the end of the year we see

Now the Mole is saying not only is Benji a 93.3% chance to come to us, he's now saying an announcement will come tomorrow and Benji will play for us in Round 9. WTF!!! Is he on drugs or is he right?

Makes for a very interesting clash in Round 10...
