He'd be probably looking at a long-ish term contract not just this year????

I am not sure what the club should offer him beyond 2014 because he would be a lot cheaper now then in 12 weeks time IF he is performing well other clubs may then be sniffing around and we would be forced to pay more if he was doing well and we wanted to keep him.

Interesting decision IMO.

I've been reading everyone's posts and a lot of your opinions and facts that you've brought forward are making me reconsider my opinion on this. But I'll still say no though. I just don't think he is anywhere near the player he was a few years ago. His last season with the Tigers were awful, they cut him loose and now they are going great guns. An abject failure in Rugby. I just can't see how he's going to help the team be better then it already is. Is he really that much an improvement on what we have? Also I'd like us to try to sign someone younger. A halfback we can rebuild the team around. I know a lot of people won't agree, but that's just my opinion. If we do sign him, then I'll take the same approach I took with Toddy. I hope he proves me wrong.

He'll be 30 at the start of next season with a year or two of relatively ordinary form behind him. I can't see anyone paying big bucks for him.

Agree re pre game as long as Fittler isn't a part of it!

It isn't scheduled at 4pm because on delay means 9 can have three minute ad breaks every 15-20 minutes, they can't do that if it's live. Again, the NRL should grow a set. Pisses me off that AFL fans get four live games every week on FTA, NRL fans get one. It's pathetic.

I heard a nine exec being quizzed about this the other week. Nine want it to lead into their 6pm news, don't know exactly why i, but they are considering bringing in a 4 oclock news because the nrl wont budge.

He claimed they were trying to get it live on sunday with all that pre game bs. But yeah i always thought is was just to feed people extended ad breaks.

Sign him. With some of the crap that has found it's way into a Shark's Jersey over the years, how could one say no to Benji?

The time to capitalise on this list is now, we should sign Marshall, then sign Fergo next year and go for it in what could be Gal's last season.
