If this case isn't strong enough then that means pretty much nothing in the future will be either, unless there is a positive test.

So, I expect to see 150kg players that can run 100m in 6 seconds flat in the AFL in the near future.

Pretty much. Keep bad records and get done for procedural failures, its a small price to pay for a super-human roster.

There are a bunch of teenagers still at school running ubelievable times. 10.13 wind assisted by Tasmanian Jack Hale. There are a bunch hot on his heals (10.2/3,4).

We have new running stocks coming through that are unheard of in Australia.

Former nrl player (and i think current Cowboys s & c coach) mark henry was running times close to the then commonwealth games record times when he was 14-15 years old in our high school carnivals. I remember the year books would be printed with current school athletics/swimming record times and his name basically accompanied every distance and age group

I can't be sure but that sounds more like live baiting to me.

I wouldn't mind betting that former Sharks players that refused to accept the guilty plea.............are feeling a lot better after Bomber's Ruling today than those who felt pressured to take the "carrot"

The thing that makes me so bitter about the whole saga still is the media **** storm that targeted this club compared to them seemingly ignoring other clubs.

We were targetted due to us being investigated. The others got audited and let off. The dt hardly wrote about essendon though because nobody in sydney cared.

DT very quiet this morning. SMH blaming us for not fighting it.
Brad Walters is another idiot who tgre the book at us during the saga
and now says it's our fault and we should have fought it. Hypocrite

Hooper very quiet on The Back Page last night, nowhere near the venom that he went at us with.

Hopefully they've given up on Essendon to pursue Eastern Suburbs.:glasses-cool:

What is the point you are making? There should be no government body that checks to see if athletes are drug cheats, or no body at all. Perhaps you trust the NRL to do it?

A body that is intended to keep sport clean is guaranteed a conviction if they put forward a case to answer?

AFL which isn't even a real game by international standards has debased Australian sport and this makes you happy.

The point I was trying to make was more what seemed to be a media circus that went with the investigation the chest beating from politicians, the constant leaks I'm more than happy for cheats to be booted this has tainted both codes for last 2 years for one team to have a fist full of players serve a 3 week suspension and another team not play week one of the finals that to me seems a underwhelming outcome, not the darkest day in sport

The two differences in the case was simply money, Paul Little is worth hundreds of millions and bank rolled the lawyers. We were broke as a club and told the players no more funding as did the NRL.

I hope those such as Colin Best who didn't admit guilt goes through the process and is found innocent

I know the type lol, but this guy in particular is extraordinary for a white guy. I hope it is real, but I don't believe damn thing when it comes to the 100m anymore at international level. Usain Bolt is basically the only athlete never to be busted. Schoolboy sport must be relatively easy to dope in. I saw a car with their peptide business openly advertised driving around my suburb not two weeks ago.

You have to keep in mind Shirvo ran 10.02 and is the fastest white guy to have ever lived and he never even ran below 10.20 again (although I am going from memory and happy to be corrected). That makes Jack Hale in particular remarkable. That there are several hot on his heals makes it eye brow raising.

ASADA were massively underfunded and not equipped to deal with drug problems on that scale. They were underfunded and without any real power.

I agree in one respect. If you cut costs to the point that the service is unable to function then tax payer money is wasted. More spending is required not less, then money won't be wasted. Spending tax payer money pursuing drug cheats is not a waste of money from the perspective of most sports fans I would have thought.

That isn't true and the drug was AOD9604. They fessed up to that one because ASADA incorrectly advised them it was legal.

There was no records that either peptide was put in a syringe and injected into the players, there was no text message there was no photos there was no voice recordings.

All heresay - at least in the eyes of the AFL tribunal.

Ok. The reason ASADA didn't pursue the AOD9604 which they specifically identified in their waivers was because they incorrectly advised Essendon it was legal. Possibly that is why AOD9604 was identified in its entirety and why the Thymosin identification was conveniently smudged.

The real issue in my opinion is while this whole injecting thing was going on in both codes, not a single drug test came back positive. This shows that whatever testing regime ASDA is using, is not working plain and simple. To think any elite sport is drug free is horribly naïve. Everyones on something. wether that something is currently illegal or soon to be well that's a different story
