I don't even think the Beale vs Leutele competition for a spot next year is close. Beale has to get the spot.

Agree - Leutele has not shown enough to push Beale out.. Bird to centre on Holmes's wing as those 2 will light it up! (but perhaps be a little weak in defense due to their smaller size) - but thats a problem im sure the coaching staff can work with!

Have you been watching Bird defend this year?

Top defender so far, and he will get stronger.
I also dont necessarily think we should change the Val/Beale combo, it works too well. Plus with either Chad or Maloney with them Beale might even get a couple tries.

The only loss i foresee in dropping Leutele for Bird is Leutele is one of the rare explosive runners in our backs. Bird has had some clear space recently and seemed a tad slow. Thats being fussy though. Im sure Bird is all sorts of fatigued atm.

It would be a totally different story when a team targets their side of the field with large centers or second rowers not to mention some of the huge wingers getting around. They are both solid defenders but they are both lacking in size! It would make perfect sense for opposition teams to target their side to
A. test out the younger players
B. tire them out so they begin to lack sting in attack.

but considering the other side is Feki and Beale i reckon Bird and Holmes would be getting far more traffic their way.

The Beale / Val combo works so well as Beale like to pass instead of run/tackle bust and Val is obviously lethal given the opportunities Beale is giving him.

Canterbury targeted Bird last week and he handled it with ease. Don't forget he's only 20. He will only put on more muscle from here. Looks like a natural defender to me, I'm not worried in the slightest.

I dont think it will be too different to now where instead he has forwards targeting him because hes a young 5/8

Koni Hurrell. Would anyone else take him and give him a stint in the back row?

Yeah, he is a character. He was on the footy show a couple weeks back. Just this big smiling wrecking ball. Get Feki to have a speak to him and let's get him here

I don't watch every Warriors game so I tend to base my opinion from looking from afar but he is a impressive player on his day, he obviously has issues within his game as he has been dropped a few times by several coaches.

Worth noting he is a RL newbie, played all his junior footy as a union boy & over the past few yrs NZ rugby have tried to poach him back.

In the second row, all he has to do is get in there and make a good first impact. Work on his fitness and he is a lot less suspect than being out in the centres where he is expected to do a lot more reading and one on one work.

I do get his has defensive misreads but funnily enough for a guy with so much power I cant ever recall him whacking someone where I though this guy is a beast, I am more in awe of him when he has the ball.

Someone like our very own Taga looks equally impressive when he whacks someone or breaks through the line & you see this massive human sprinting down field.
