I'd love a fully committed barba coming into our team, but im not sure that is what we will get but as pointed out we are rock bottom so we should be having a good look around, this brand image crap that gets thrown around is wearing thin, it sounds and comes across more as the board jostling to stay another term... Not having a major sponsor for god knows how long to me is more important than If we should chase Ben barba. Those thinking that not chasing barba gives us a better chance of snaring dce or Adam Reynolds for 2016...PLEASE.

Bronson Harrison has been shown the door at the goons, could be a handy depth pickup, was a NZ international just a few years ago

Winning is underrated - it does more for a squad, club and it's fans than any financial maneuvering or boardroom initiatives. It also drastically reduces the negative spotlight the media would otherwise have us in regardless of any side scandals. It's hard to be labelled 'rock bottom' or 'crisis plagued' when you are getting the 2 points every other week.

Spending money on new and better recruits in key required positions does not necessarily guarantee more wins but doing nothing almost certainly does the opposite

That sums it up pretty well. Again I ask have we stopped SIGNING NEW TALENT BECAUSE WE HAVE NO ONE TO DO IT . If that is the case our board needs a rocket up em.

I have don't think we have stopped trying to sign anybody - I think player managers are telling their players to stay away.

DCE won't come here unless there is another gun player like Barba in the team. Barba really needs to be signed. I have strong misgivngs about his potential to be a dick and that epic bender crew but we need stars.

Why would player managers do that ?
Too much uncertainty around too many areas of our club - from CEO to coach. Without a history of success to fall back on there are not a lot of positives we can spruik to incoming players.

Our current rabble remind me of souths all those years ago when no one but battlers wanted to play for them and they were rank average... My god we desperately need a white knight to ride in and shake this place up for the better... God sake we are even torn to weather or not to sign barba, any other club would have held a board meeting and come away with a yeah or nah and a game plan if they wanted a player, now 3 weeks since first mooted the board are still stymied on if they should or shouldn't... Talk about pro active.

We are a good year away from being back on track. Just need to cut the bs off field out, play a good brand of footy regardless of how well we go and things will turn around or at least improve.

We're nothing like Souths were. We came last this year because of 1. A freak injury toll 2. Inadequate coaching/football staffing and 3. Monumental off field distractions.

It wasn't because the Club is on its knees financially or because the roster is crap. Carney is the only significant loss from a roster that was top 6 in 2013.He's a big loss and the squad is ageing but some young talent has come though and there's plenty of cap space to play with for next year and beyond.

I think a lot of people are whipping themselves in to a frenzy because we haven't signed anyone for a while. I doubt we will sign anyone expensive without there being a Head Coach to make the call. That's the reality.

But the upside is that there's a lot of movement of contracted players this year and Flano/Mooney have a track record of getting handy ones.

I remember when Jon Green and Mark Taufua seemed to be were our main signings in 2011. Then we signed De Gois, Todd et al.

I think its more likely than not that we'll get someone of top 17 standard before next year.

Don't know how reliable or true this source is but I read something that we are looking to off load Lewis. I don't believe it.

I'm not wrist slitting, but those 3 points are bloody major ones, with our better players getting older and loving their rep footy not sure the injury one is such a easy fix.... I'm hoping your optimism is on the money, I will however continue to hope for the best..
