I'm hearing Ben Barba will NOT be joining the Sharks next year.

Rothfield reporting Barba is unlikely as the board is concerned about behaviour. Given Rothfield's link to the board he probably has a fair idea.

The story about the Bulldogs giving the move their blessing is simple castle being ask does she have a problem with Barba coming back to a Sydney club and she says no.

Barba is a risk but the side needs some sort of attacking flare and there aren't any other options. Get him.

We risked it with Carney and we got burnt and it's still raw, so I understand why the board would be hesitant.

However, if we stop taking risks then we will continue to struggle like we did this year.

Barba is a quality player and we need his flare - I say go for him, hard.

I hope he carves us up then if that's the case just so the board look like f wits. We're wooden spooners ffs, just sign him.

Our board are silly enough to snub a chance with barba then pay overs for takarangi and carry on like his signing is the second coming of Jesus.. That said maybe barba camp are mucking around and we want a answer rekon there will be other Sydney clubs sniffing around if he looks for sure to be heading south.

You'd think the board would sound out Ennis to gauge his views on signing Barba.
Write in his contract , if ya gunna have a crack at a team mates missus's, it has to be Gallen's first.
He'd only do it once ;)

Lol, I had to read your post twice to realise what you were getting at.

I would hate Barbara to be our long term fullback option over holmes. Baraba might be better this year. and i mean MIGHT. but holmes wil be the better fullback long term. We need a half or two.

You would think we'd be looking at him as a halves option.

How does Barba go defensively, safer than Carney??

That isn't a hard feat, Carney was an arm slapper. In Barba's first three games at 5/8 he missed 3 tackles. The fewest of any brisbane player in that time.

I could handle Barba in the halves...although im not sure what he would do as far as kicking and setting up plays..would be a dangerous runner.. He would be an awesome utility on the bench.

have you forgotten about Flash, Im sure with Flanno coming back he is the long term fullback, even though i would like to see holmes have a crack at fullback.
B.Barba will have to play 5/8

Barba isn't an nrl standard 5/8 plus we don't have the coaching staff or play the style of play for him to be anything other than a dud buy.
You can say he was the best 5/8 in the 20 's comp but hasn't showed any of that in nrl . He played very good at the back for the dogs but even when mitch brown played there this year he looked better than our full back. Our coaching staff and style of play is probably the worst ever in the history of the game

Yeah don't worry about taking a punt on barba, i'm sure Daniel Holdsworth is available to partner robbo in the halves..
