Any news on cronulla signing anyone? Seems very quiet in regards to recruits while other clubs are landing deals everywhere.

If he can land a 3 year deal with the promise of first grade its going to be hard to stand in the way of that. It's not like he's in his early 20's.

Having said that, I'm all for a swap involving one of Newcastle's up and coming youngsters to get him released for 2023.
Be nice if they had any of those

Not real fussed at losing him. Had some good games against weak teams, but the finals showed he's got plenty to learn.
We’ve got a surplus at fullback. Kennedy is incumbent, Dykes is the heir apparent, and Iro is an option. I love Lachie, but we can afford to let him go for an opportunity to play regular first grade. Genuinely, good luck to him.

Yeah as much as you'd like something in return I'm not sure what we can get in this circumstance. Maybe a backup winger would be nice but not sure what they have. Can't deny the guy a change to play consistent first grade if its there.

Alternatively, can you loan him to the Knights under the proviso he plays FG fullback? I'd be pissed if we let him go and the Ponga at 5/8 experiment ends after a month again and he ends up playing reserves at Newy.

We re-signed half our squad this year and have to re-sign the other half next year mate.
Wouldn't be expecting any major announcements tbh.

I am not fussed with letting miller go. He is too small for the wing/center and I would prefer if we had a back up being able to fill in on the wing as well. I would try and get another player as part of a deal with letting him go. But can appreciate that may not be a viable option.

He would a gun in the centre’s for us if we gave him a decent crack. His pace is something you can’t teach.

Imo we need to keep him and find a spot for him.

Tell them they can have Tracey instead.

You can't keep them all. Dykes and Iro both ahead of him imo.

Newcastle wanting to use Ponga in the halves again makes no sense 😅. They got Gamble at 6 and now Hastings at 7, that's a decent halves pairing of proper halfbacks in their prefered positions. Could be a good spine depending on how well they gel, 1.Ponga 6.Gamble 7.Hastings 9.Brailey. I think we should keep Miller with us for his last season, handy back up player. Would love to see him get more consistent top grade games and see if he builds off it, even if it's with another club, but he would probably end up playing reserves for knights. With Tex Hoy gone, they are going to get him as a back up fullback when Ponga is injured. I would only let him go if it's a swap deal, and we get someone good in return. Kurt Mann is also off contract next season, good utility, can play in the backline and lock.

We're not going to get someone good in return for a player that isn't good.

People need to be realistic here.

I know I’m living in the past but I can’t get past Kurt Mann’s shocker against us for the Dragons in 2016!

If they have genuine plans to use Miller as their first choice full back and give him a 3yr contract, moving Ponga to 5-8, then they might consider it. But if they're not, and just want him as back up for fullback, we might aswell keep Miller if they don't offer anything decent in return

I think he’s too small mate. Imagine him trying to stop a Joey Manu or Campbell Graham - both would swat him away like a mosquito.

I think the only position he can play is FB and I don’t think he’s a first grade fullback… and if Kennedy starts the year like he finished 2022 - neither is he.

First year at the dragons, Dragons also struggled that year. Had a shocker against us haha ended up being their top try scorer. I'd still get him, matured now

Hastings must be super toxic if the Tigers aren't retaining their best and most influential player from 2022.

Going back to Brooks running the show if they can't replace him, wtf are they thinking even if Brooks has a better team around him is much going to actually change

I think it's more a reflection of the Knights wanted them to put in too much for Brooks and they didn't want to pay a bunch for him to play elsewhere.
