Heighno to decide in the next Month whether he wants to retire or play on (Duplicate articles. Just posted both in case of paywalls).

“I’m not too sure if I’m going to play on or retire,”
“I’ll probably (decide) over the next month to be honest. I will sit down with the family and sit down with the club and see where they’re at.”
“I would like to stay in Australia ideally ... If it’s not here, I’ll probably retire,”

I think Heigno still has a lot to offer the NRL. If I'm the Knights, I'm giving him 350k and pitching him the idea that he is exactly the type of experienced player they need to keep the young blokes steady at the helm.

I think as a club we need to part ways with either Lewis or Heigno at the end of this year. Not because they don't offer anything, but because once 2018 finishes we then lose around 900 games of experience at the same time.

Yeah we need to start refreshing the forwards. I guess a bit depends on the crazy marketplace.

If we can't pick up any decent forwards at reasonable prices it might be worth keeping the band together for another year and start fishing when the muddy waters begin to clear.

I love the way Heino plays, but i personally think this should be his last. Lewis and Gallen to play one more year. (maybe you could get 2 years out of Lewis) but the next 2 years we need to get 2 outstanding back rowers. A cordner, Hess, Frizzel type players who are entering the peaks of their careers.

if i'm the knights recruiter i would be chasing the following:

chris heighno 1 year deal
jacob lillyman 2 year deal
aidan guerra 2 year deal
will smith 2 year deal
adam elliot 2 year deal
sam tagatese 1 year deal
ryan hoffman 1 year deal
bodene thompson 2 year deal
kalifa faifai loa 2 year deal
josh mcrone 2 year deal
Jordan Rankin 1 year deal
connor watson 3 year deal

these players aren't superstars but you get 3 or 4 of them and they would improve there team immensely imo.

look at the knights now. anything is an improvement. and those players listed are the most likely to actually end up there.

The problem for the knights, facing 3 straight spoons is, signing guys on a swan song bandaids them for a year. U cant rebuild a club by being the destination of a guy whos at the stage of 'retirement or knights'.

2018 they come 15th. Then 2019 back to the spoon
