not really, the salary cap will be 6.8 next year then up to 7 in 2017, considering 10 years ago the cap was only 3.4 million and the top players were earning 600-700k paying 1.2 isn't really that bad

If anyone thinks we are going to get Evans here for 1m-1.1m then you are dreaming, it's going to take a heap to get him here, like the Titans are offering him if not more. The thing that will be intersting to me if we get him, is not how much money he will be getting, but how much money will be going into our salary cap

Do we have access to the sorta deals that others can get from 3rd party business's?

Im not saying we can get him for 1.1 but im saying i dunno how id feel about his salary going up to near 1.5Mil a year. If you spend that much on one guy, you want a premiership, if you dont get it, youve only made that guy rich. I want him here i really do. But im worried about how we get him here. If we have to declare he as our ONLY marquee signing, he can get 600K cap free. but then our 800K season for barba is all on us too. Gal will have the discount. TO be honest to get DCE, Lewis really doesnt have a place in the team, but we will either have to pay him out, or hope someone wants him.

Barba has part payments from Broncos but only for this year and next isnt it? So if 2017 is 800K thats a consideration too. If we try to cheat the cap to get him though ill give up on this club. Its gotta be legit, cos we will be the team that gets caught

You can attract other players to the club a hell of a lot easier if you have Evans in your side over sezer or Hodgkinson, recruiting players will be easier and will most likely save money there

Well of us Manly or Titans, beyond 2015 we probably have the BEST roster Cherry Evans can go to. But it will come down to the money, and if it goes into a bidding war i have a feeling the only winner will be DCE. I hope im wrong but.

But i hope we go after him hard, but if we miss out i hope we dont miss the boat on a few others if DCE goes elsewhere. We could end up with Kyle Stanley as our 7 next year, and that idea makes me cry

yeah i agree mate. 1.1 would be the absolute max i would pay. and even then i dunno. He's obviously about the money, the interview with him i saw said that nobody had given him an offer where he was in a position to start that process. If clubs are already talking a mil for him and he isnt happy he needs to wake the **** up.

DCE will go straight to the highest bidder. IF we go cold at a mil or a bit more i dont think you could hold the club responsible for the non-signing.

Not sure why he needs to wake up? I have no problem with League players trying to get the biggest offer possible.

Good on him. Seriously, it doesn't bother me at all. A player's career can be cut short at any time, it's not like they have a 40 year career.
