The last 2 years I beg to differ. We're always kicking from well inside our own half and the opposition forward pack marches down field at will.

That has had more to do with our backpeddling defensive line and rule changes IMO.

difference being where we get the ball. On our goal line.

When we get to our last we either give em a 20 metre restart or some retarded kick for touch 10 out. Look how many teams are willing to run the ball on the last inside the 20, give em that chance for a try, but if its a hand over its tackle 1 maybe 2 metres out. That 20 metres plus an extra tackle does alot of damage for the defence. Its near impossible to not get to the opposition 40 metres with 7 tackles and a 20 restart, then they put a good kick in and it goes again. 20 metre taps are a big no no from your kick.

I agree everton our front row does not match it with any of the top teams for hard straight hurt ya running and tackling Fifita does not physically hurt you when he runs or tackles and our back row has does not scare the top teams since Smith went to Newcastle.

And our grinding let the forwards take it up for four also no longer works. Either we get the players that can dominate in the forwards or.......... we change our style to fit the players we have. Since Shep took over we were a lot easier to watch with attacking footy.

We still need at the least a gun 1/2 ,3/4 and 2 hard sizeable Props and Flannos recruitment has been z grade.

We got dominated in the middle by St George this year and that's saying something because they got dominated in the middle by every other team this year

Z grade?

Wade Graham
Jeremy Smith
Bryce Gibbs
Ben Ross
Andrew Fifita
Todd Carney
Beau Ryan
Michael Gordon
Chris Heighington
Tinirau Arona
Tupou Sopoaga
Michael Ennis
Etc

And I have no doubt we would have got Benji Marshall as well as others if Flanno was here

Yep, but to be fair neither A. Fifita or Gallen were there that day, and they had their full strength available. St George also had about 200 more kick meters than us that game, so our halves didn't help with field position much.

thats the thing, hate him or not, it seems Flanno has actually done something within the squad. But under him we still had that 70 minute game mentallity.

But he's helped create some star forwards. Snowden played origin under him, Fifita too. Douglas was always the goods but was selected at 18th man in 2011 i think it was. Geez the peptides must have had mass effect hey….:gal:

Snowden and Douglas were 2010 when they were in that gun form, back in Sticky days. I think Flanno was just assistant back then.

Actually, Snowden might have got a game in 2011 as well.

yeah you are right, 2010 it was, cos 2011 was the re-signing announcement bull****, which would have been a non event had he not played origin.

However Flanno was assistant back then as well, so i guess he probably had some effect back then

Yep, I think it's fair to say that Flanno might have had something to do with it as an assistant. Like, judging from Sticky's work with Canberra and Parra, Sticky was cancer on their forward packs as well, and he had Elkin there at Parra for a while as strength coach or whatever. Considering our forwards were nothing special for most of this year, maybe Flanno was the missing link.

There we have it, I think it is a conspiracy, and that: Flanno = Prop-Jesus. Praise him, best coach ever. We just need to BELIEVE. :gal:

haha not going that far but yeah. I dunno it all just came down to fitness i think and i think Flanno mighta given them better pre-seasons and prepared them for the season better. His team structures, junior call ups and set plays leave a bit to be desired though

FROM OTHER FORUMS RELIABLE POSTER:

Bird has flown the coop. Hearing he will not be at Cronulla.

There are other players being moved on, I have heard we have spoken to Dylan Farrell and a young winger from the Dragons.

I like like it

One must wonder how this came to happen to this degree, Its words Gal you have been called worse and repeated the same to others for sure
You really think it was Gal that read the facebook page and asked Snowy to be banned? It would have been someone at the club taking offense and reacting to it.

On another note, Flanno is due back in 6 days, anyone know what the clubs anticipating here? Do we have a back up plan should he be banned again or have we been given the wink that it's all going to be fine?
We can still make the finals

The question I guess is - who is we?

Is 'we' our old strength and conditioning guy, was it Peter Sharp, was it Flanno?

People don't suddenly improve as a forward just by putting on a Sharks jersey.
Props have stood out in our team because the rest of the players and attacking structure by contrast are so useless

Had we had a quality halfback and modern attacking plan last season Fifita would not have had to create so many standout moments himself because the ball would have been in the hands of the halfback and our backline instead of the under 7's gameplan of just give it to the big guy and let him find his way to the tryline

That is not to discredit Fifita, he was sensational and a special talent but we relied on a Prop to win us games
At the Sharks, a hitup is considered an attacking move...

Two Fifita Boys

I can't understand why earlier this year when the two Fifita boys were fit, why we didn't have them both starting the game at the same time. (Oh hang on, Sharpy was coaching the side) If they both shaved and had the same haircut the opposition wouldn't know who was running at them.
