I have noticed over the years, enforcers are not always madmen.

The sharks through the years IMO:

Cliff Watson - never saw him play, but J. Christ, what a bad Hombre. Not mad, just mean.
Steve Kneen. Too young to really know - I think he just used to belt blokes.
Les Davidson Bundy - The Enforcer. Legend. Not a madman
Knuckles Greenhill - not a madman.
Chris Beatty - barking mad.
Bird - Barking mad.
Who have I missed?

Michael Wicks - Mad. Drove onto the field during training and did donuts.

I think Madden going to Broncos is an awful idea for him. Would much rather be a 3rd half at Panthers then be at the Broncos shitshow as the 3rd half. Unless he's ahead of Mam? But they also have Walters jr, plus their powerbrokers will want to pinch queensland rep halves. Like it won't work how they think it will.

Unless he's ahead of Mam...

At Panthers he was guaranteed games mid season etc and he would obviously look REALLY good in the games he played behind their forward pack and with their systems. So you use a 3rd half couple of seasons to push towards the next contract being a main half somewhere else.

Must be banking on ARey more likely to be injured again than Cleary to be suspended.

Wouldn’t think he’d be ahead of Mam but Walters seems to mostly be being used as hooker

They miss having a Brody Croft type player 😅

Yeah the problem is that Reynolds is (according to Gamble) basically captain coach so if the captain coach isn't playing then the team is gonna be all over the place, not good for the resume' to be halfback if the games you play your team gets smashed.

They should put Billy Walters at 6, has enough top grade experience to lead (especially when Reynolds is out), asks alot of questions in attack, served his time well at dummy half.

Don't know why they would let Gamble go, brings alot of energy and is a hype man, not afraid to take on the line or get in oppositions faces, Reynolds got his confidence when Gamble finally became his halves partner and they started playing good footy

Gamble is bog average. Decent defender and he can ruffle a few feathers, but when your halfback can't hit your chest with a pass he's no good.

Walters and Gamble are Scott Prince type players imo (in style, not ability). They need to be running the show to be effective. Can’t play second fiddle.

It’s probably why Mam has been given the gig at 6 over them.

Fair enough, still would have Walters there in the halves fulltime for the season, Reynolds is good but not durable, and Mam is still learning, won't be leading team around anytime soon, that's what they lacked busy end of season when Reynolds was in and out, someone to manage games and lead in the halves

Anyway glad Brongos didn't make the 8, humble their fans again, it's been nice last few years seeing them keep quiet, they all came out of the wood works this season thinking they were top **** again and we're contenders, wish we beat them this season, but atleast a lower team (Dragons) satisfyingly put the nail in the coffin 😌

The first 3 were special in that regard, Cliff Watson & Steve Kneen were brutal, Les could outbox anyone back in the day.

In recent years I thought Jeremy Smith went alright also.
