Release Williams…….why cause he got injuried?

He was second best forward last season (behind rudolf) under Fitz he will be a complete beast.

Release Williams, hoping that is a joke!
That one went straight through to the keeper clearly 😂😂

Throw a 2 year deal at Bateman now! He can go back home after that.

Williams was our best forward last season - easily

Rudolf was pretty rough with the week to week mistakes and missed tackles, I didn't rate his 2021 season very highly to the point I wasn't as concerned if he was going to sign elsewhere. Has come back really strong this year under the new coach and glad we kept hold of him

I really don't see it with Hazelton. He is big but does not seem to have any speed.

He is a younger non lazy version of Woods who makes metres and can defend. He is a forward, plenty of them don't have much speed or agility about them but they make it work for the role they are picked and suited for

Was impressive in the trials, deserves to be rated

Dunno if he has much of an offload but if he adds that to his game (like Woods) he will be an even bigger asset in the middle

Stats say not really
6 offloads in 18 cup games this season.
5 tries
95.5% tackle efficiency and averaging 112m

Comparing him to Woods is anything but a compliment. He may be good. I just can't see him keeping up with the style we play. Happy to be proven wrong

Woods is a good player, he just has a bad rap for being a pillow and his laziness or lack of focus at times is really disappointing and getting tangled up with all the defenders tackling him can slow a teams momentum in getting to the next ruck

As for our style fair point but I think if a slow undynamic forward like Tolman can slot into this Sharks squad and do a good job Hazleton can.
There will always be a need in rugby league for basic go forward and tackles regardless of how a team plays with the ball

Woods used to be a very good player
Now he's barely hanging onto a bench role in NRL

He found a style that suited him and suited the game at the time and used it to get 17 Kangaroos jerseys and 14 NSW jerseys.
He was a standby player for NSW and a nominee for Dally M Prop of the Year in just his second year of NRL.
Victim of increased prevalence of wrestle, and game went away from that style (even more so now), and he started to fall off. Tie that in with not being great laterally anyway and he fell off a bit of a cliff compared to what he used to be and is still sliding.

The Sharon hair, adapting faster to changing game and his ability to find ways to not just miss but miss by a mile when he does all contributed to people having a worse view of him than they may have otherwise. Throw in trying to milk everything on both sides of the ball...
Defintiely his own reputations worst enemy.

Hazeltons strength is his defence, has a good work rate, up and down of the ground very quick for his size, very very strong easily out muscles 99% of players, extra height and arm length helps him wrap up defenders arms and stops offloads.
Without stats but by watching him closely gives up next to no post contact meters when defending.
Won’t get any mom points or on the highlight reels but going to be very effective in his role when called on.
Ideal bench forward to play along side an impact prop like Hunt or Uele or tighten up defence when we are getting tired around the ruck.

Just saw he's your NSW Cup Player of the Year but could barely get a look in for NRL
Yeah its odd. I think he reportedly resigned for two years. I wish we played him more but Potter/Baz team sections were awful all year. Hopefully he gets snapped up by a team that will play him, in which could be Sharks possibly.

Woods is rubbish. Lacks the personality you’d want from your “enforcer” I would prefer Tolman over Woods anyday

What I consider an "enforcer" is being eradicated or at least vastly changed (neutered). JWH & NAS last of them and they're now branded "thugs".

Steve Matai was more of an "enforcer" than most props now.
