Not saying it's a bad thing but can anyone remember a season of so few rumoured signings for us?

For us? Given Fitz, Nicho & Dale were all done with little to no heads up from rumours I'm sweet. Also 6mths discussion with Bellamy before anyone knew. Means the club is tight lipped & professional.

Also a shallow market with a new big fish added to plenty other hungry sides.

I also think that when you are having a poor season the jurnos (amd maybe player managers) start throwing names around of players available to come to the club.

Yep agree just saying I can't recall our club ever being in this zone before. Guns for show knives for a pro.

Are we heading back to the “good old broncos days” of a squad of Kangaroo players being paid peanuts under the salary cap with more dodgy 3rd party deals?

Trouble brewing at Broncos after Walsh signing

The Broncos have plenty to celebrate after signing one of the most exciting young playmakers in the NRL, but it might have sealed the exit of another one.

Brisbane stunned the rugby league world by signing 19-year-old Warriors fullback Reece Walsh last week.

Just about everyone at Red Hill was jumping through hoops, but I believe the signing could be unsettling for some.

Broncos coach Kevin Walters has a problem on his hands after six contracts were handed out in this order.

First, Staggs was re-signed until the end of 2025 on the promise he’d get an opportunity to play five-eighth.

Second, premiership-winning halfback Adam Reynolds was signed on a $2.1 million three-year deal until the end of 2024.

Third, teenage half Ezra Mam was upgraded to the top 30 squad on a three-year deal until the end of 2024.

Fourth, Farnworth penned a 12-month extension until the end of 2023 on the promise he’d get a crack at fullback.

Fifth, young gun winger Selwyn Cobbo recommitted to the club until the end of 2025 on a $2 million deal and with expectation he’d have an opportunity at playing fullback.

Finally, Walsh inked a three-year deal and the teenage superstar was told he’ll either be playing fullback or five-eighth.

That’s six star players and only three positions. Here’s the solution.

Mam is going to be one of the top-five five-eighths in the competition within two years.

My view for 2023 is the Broncos play Walsh at fullback, Reynolds at halfback, Mam at five-eighth, Cobbo at left centre and Staggs at right centre.

I love Farnworth as a player, he’s elite, but I don’t think the Broncos just paid Cobbo $2 million to play on the wing.

I expect a few phone calls to be made as multiple NRL teams believe he can be an elite NRL fullback.

Either way, Brisbane are back and their future looks bloody exciting.

Morris is one of the favourites to get the tigers gig.
Perhaps Noddy - Tigers middles took it to the Eels last night - I had not seen that from the Tiges for an age. Buckets Hemsley & Roach esq. They were not playing like that for Madge - for what ever reason.
