Thanks mate. Whoever Todd Hazleton and Jesse Colquhorn are, I'm excited to have them on board!

Adding some quotes to save people a visit to ZT.

"A little bit of breaking news, but they are very close to sorting something out with the Sharks. He wants to stay, likely for three years.

"There was interest from other clubs. The Tigers were quite keen and Parramatta had a little sniff as well. The deal isn't done, but it's very close.

"They (the Sharks) are working through a number of guys off-contract. Jesse Colquhorn has just been done, Todd Hazleton will be done, they will want to have a look at Wade Graham and Andrew Fifita over the next four to six weeks, and there is a question mark over Tolman.

"But certainly Nikora, he will stay."

Nathan Brown free to leave Eels
I was interested previously and haven't watched him that close this season but I did see him a bit last weekend and not for good reasons.

On multiple occasions he jogged into line and then threw a pass to someone that clearly wasn't on.
Seems like he fancies himself the ball playing 13 now, or has been asked to be, and can't read when to do it or do it at full pace.

Could be good for someone if he can get back to his old style of run hard tackle hard

Eels fans also mentioning Ipap and Mahoney choosing to leave seems to have caused a but of division amongst playing group, not sure further details of that.

He is actually a decent ballplayer. He put Lane through a nice hole against the Raiders leading to a try for D.Brown. He has a history of doing it. I guess he just needs to pick his moments a bit better, or not try to force things when his team is down.

Radley had a bit of this in his game a while back too. Passes hitting the deck etc. because he wasn't getting his timing right. Brown could just be a little off his game. Doesn't mean he is past it.

Whether the Sharks need yet another smallish middle is another discussion (probably not, but Brown is a bloody good player).

Reading the forum I know Nikora isn't highly rated by a lot of people but I rate him rather highly, I'm actually pleased to hear he's set to re-sign with us for another few years. Interesting that the Tigers, Eels & Warriors were all chasing him aswell. Good to keep Hazleton too, he impressed me on his debut game. I can't comment on Colquhorn as I haven't seen him play yet.

I think many on here like 90% of Nikora's game. It's just frustrating that the 10% he isn't getting right is the same 10% he wasn't getting right 3 years ago. He has a lot of strengths, but it would have been nice to see him patch up his weaknesses rather than repeating them over and over.

Jesse is awesome. You are going to love him (but probably not as much as I do).

I guess that just shows that most players have their weaknesses & always will have weaker parts. he scores a lot of tries by those good inside balls within the 10m line. He's still only quite young so who knows, Fitzzy over the next few years may be able to fix up his weaknesses.

Going by the forum it does look like Jesse gets lots of praise so I'd say I'll like him when I see him. It's handy that we've got a fair few young decent forwards now when a lot of our main forwards are all in the backend of their careers.

Yeah I've seen him throw good passes in the past.

He seems to either be trying to player to an expectation of passing and not picking and choosing, or was just checked out and didn't really care to get tackled.

I think two times I saw it happen the 'support runner' had not timed and paced themselves to actually be a useful at the line receiver.
But he should have known not to still pass them the ball (unless being told to make sure he is passing) and also he himself looked like he was never intending to try and run through the line either. He was moving slow enough he had ample opportunity to realise they weren't a good receiver and just tuck it and dig in.

While my own observations are limited the fact he's been dropped and shopped suggests it wasn't a once off
