The bit about Fitzgibbon finding it difficult to make decisions is rubbish. He'll have 3 months more than Barrett did to get his squad together and will absolutely be spending time talking to players both internally and externally. Even Robbo admitted as much that he'll need to prepare for next year.

I can tolerate Geyer from time to time but Blake Ferguson is a terrible shout. We don't need wingers. Could get behind Finucane or Brown at prop though.

Finucane is exactly what our squad needs. Perfect sharks type player

Just not sure where we can fit him

He has too many concussions thinking Fergo is good. Nathan brown is quality though

Fergo is ridiculously rocks and diamonds. If you were paying for the rocks he's probably a very good deal, but someone will probably pay for the diamonds.

Naden would be a perfect moneyball signing. Dogs and tigs both after him.

Yeah that's what I was thinking too, if he is on a bit of a reduced offer due to the... issues... then he could be a very good signing.
Has proven good enough to play first grade, could contest well with Ramien, Ferris, Hiroti (?) and Jensen (and even Tracey as an option) next year to ensure you had two good centres on the park without being spending a huge amount.
Think he's fairly quick right? Would be good to get some good pace outside Wade to threaten on his kicks a bit better.

In saying that joining as the third party into a bidding war probably pushes the price up to the point it would be less interesting.

Can't see anyone paying big money for him. Strong and fast, definitely would be a better value signing than a manu/staggs, although it would be awesome to get Staggs.

The managers are too crafty, don't think anyone comes out of a three+ team bidding war particularly good value.
He could still be an option but I don't think at enough of a discount to make him especially attractive. Also risk paying a premium because he is a Panther. He won't be big money but could be priced out of being worthwhile.
You have to cop overpaying a bit for the most in demand players when you want them and keep an eye out for the bargains. Naden isn't good enough to fight for unless the other clubs drop out real quick.

I think Fitz will need to sign more than moneyball players. Our squad will develop in the next 12 months to be full of moneyball players I reckon.

All the lists of players available for next year make me wonder how we'll spend the money if we do clear the decks... It's not super inspiring. Hopefully Fitz can talk a few good players or of their current contracts

Neither of the other clubs have the best recent record though. Might come to us a bit cheaper.

He doesn't have to win the comp next year. There are still good players off contract for 22, then stars available for 23. I think now is the perfect time for moneyball signings so that you're in a position to sign a star when they become available. Say we replaced moylan, fifita and dugan with reynolds*, brown and Nayden, we would do that with money to spare. Include down grades to SJ and Woods and we are in a very good position.

*Obviously the Reynolds signing would need Chad not to take up his option.

He might need to the following year, otherwise he could only have a handful of games in his last year...

I get where you're headed, but that plan doesn't scream upgrade. Brown, yep, I'd take him in a heartbeat. That's not quite a swap for what we used to have in fifita, but handy enough. Reynolds is dependant on Chad, which feels pretty unlikely tbh.

I'm expecting plodder Woods to return as soon as he resigns (he's got form on that front) SJ's 50/50 to keep fit... Where are the game breakers? The team needs a Paps, Dafita, Teddy type. Reynolds ain't that. SJ probably won't be anymore.

Moylan has been good as part of our attacking movements, so we need that too... So many holes, so little depth or breakout talent to fill them
