Tell Marty we’ll give him 700, up to Marty & eagles to haggle over the remaining 240 or if he’ll take a paycut to get out of the joint.

also, hame sele to us and feki to the dragons is what is about to happen

Maybe not. This popped up today:

DRAGONS STRUGGLING TO HOLD ONTO YOUNG GUN
The Dragons are struggling to hold onto promising young forward Hame Sele next season.

On the radar of several rival clubs, including the Roosters and Canterbury, Sele will need to settle for less if he wants to stay at the Red-V.

Social media had Sele signed and sealed this week at the Sharks, but the Shire club are intent on developing their own rising stars including Jack Williams, Scott Sorensen and Briton Nikora.

For what it's worth:

ROOSTERS MAKE PLAY FOR KYLE FLANAGAN
The Roosters have begun planning for life after Cooper Cronk by making a play for Cronulla young gun, Kyle Flanagan.

The son of Sharks coach Shane Flanagan, Kyle continues to push for NRL selection through the Intrust Super Premiership.

The NSW under-20s and NSW Residents representative halfback is off-contract at Cronulla in 2019.

Roosters coach Trent Robinson is a major fan of the younger Flanagan, which is why a verbal approach was made through the 19-year old's manager.

Subtle wording here would make most readers think he is off contract FOR next season rather than AFTER next season. Journos doing their thing.

If Val doesn't re-sign then we grab Barba and have Val play the year out on the wing next year.

No one wants to see him leave

But if we pick up Barba out of it we are still cheering prob one of the only players that’s more exciting

I think Val is going to get incrementally better at fullback year on year. Barba has probably already peaked and is more likely to hit bad form for months at a time. On the balance you go with Val.

Personally I think Barba will still be the better player for the next two years. I wouldn't trade Val if we think he could stay here long term, but if we're resigned to losing him it'd be great to have them both on the books next year.

Would totally suck if we ended up with neither. Will be a delicate path to tread for our recruitment staff.
