You have just given me an erection. Well not you personally, you know what I mean.

Hey , That's my job .
Not providing erections but trawling the other forum .
Spend the arvo sorting out Flanno and miss one scoop .
Now, I'm yesterdays news .
Tough gig being an allrounder ( on my case an oblonger )

I dont get how we would have to pay out Carney if he stays only for a year. If he wants to play in the NRL he would have to play his last contract he had. Cronulla would be stupid to pay out those remaining 2 or 3 years left.

Just some food for thought. My wife works in HR for a big firm and was telling me that in your average pleb job when it comes to unfair dismissal the mediators guide employers toward a settlement. In the time that passes since a dismissal, there is usually bad blood, or people have moved on, and people aren't looking for their job back.

In the event of former employees whose salaries were quite high (we're talking six figures at least), then the typical option is to go for a re-engagement of services.

This could work for and against us. It would mean that the mediators would be likely suggesting the Sharks reinstate Carney. It all comes down to whether Carney is bitter over what Noyce and Keogh have done to him. Noyce has moved on, but Keogh remains. Having Flanno as the coach could be beneficial, as we all know the connection they have. It's all speculation but I was interested when my wife said it might not be a simple case of him coming for cash. Let's not forget the guy took a pay cut to re-sign for us the last time he was off-contract. Who knows.

Wonder what the legal ramifications would be if it was deemed unlawful that the NRL shouldn't have de-registered him? You'd think the NRL would pay out the Catalans, but as if the NRL will ever do us a favour...

You guys are crazy if you think that the sharks would entertain having Carney back at the club.

Enough push from our captain and coach could see it happen. He would be back on a technicality and would only have 1 life left. Its really the safest signing of carney you can get

I don't believe the board nor Gorman would allow the return of a media circus when that's exactly what they want to get away from.

The re-instatement of Carney would only put more egg on our faces.

And i don't believe they are prepared to cop said egging.

You can argue all you like about whether he should have been sacked, whether it's a smart option for the playing roster.

But there has been too much damage to the brand and pride for the board to take him back.

Will not happen.

So they would waste cap money for someone that can be used but instead we pay him to play for another club? I dont like how Carney behaved off the field but I rather the club be resourceful and let him play for the rest of his contract.

He deserved to be sacked. The nrl agree. They de-registered him.

But i think the club needs to be smart, we pay out what could be a 500k release fee for the roosters to get him, or we pay the release fee and his salary and get an on field reward
