Correct. This and Sludge going to Saints almost destroyed me as a young fella.
The funny thing for me is that I kind of remember him as a Dragons' player. The early 80s was when I started out following league. As a youngster I supported Canterbury (they were the entertainers) and Balmain. The memories are pretty vague now but is was more about footy cards than actual football. Canterbury in particular were a winning side. Whoever could flick them the furthest won the card type thing. In terms of really getting the game for the actual footy Rogers had moved to the Dragons.

God knows I should have stuck with Canterbury lol.

Yeah I flirted with the idea of the Berries before making that fateful commitment to Harry Holt

I will never forgive my old man for introducing me to the Sharks!

On the Locker Room podcast hosted by Denan Kemp, he had Wade Graham on this week.

Graham spoke about how in 2013 in the infamous 7 tackle try game against NQ in the semis, Toops tore his ACL. Instead of ending his season and having surgery, Toops still trained the next week and played in the semi against Manly with a torn ACL. No bitching, no complaining and apparently none of the other players knew until after the game.

All credit to Toops, that is a monumental effort. Shows how much he wanted to be out there on the field.
