Blokes like Fifita who make these decisions for themselves should remind us all of how we should revere our club captain, Paul Gallen who has chosen to be a Shark for life. He has put his body on the Line for us and is a rare breed. I don't blame Fifita, but let's not lose sight of the fact that we have a rare species who chooses loyalty over money. Fifita and any of these others who make these decisions can never boast that they were a club legend. That's what we will remember as Sharks fans.

So that article reckons Lichha to Dogs is also confirmed a done deal - FMD let's chase Enis now to cover for Morris and Degois retirement end of 2019, this club hasn't got a clue

Do you actually believe this?

I don't think there is any player out there who isn't a selfservative.

the boys who took 50% pay cuts in the 80's to save the Sharks, I know it was more local back then but imagine the strife some of those blokes copped from their missus

Who the **** told Fifita we have never won a premiership?!??!! No wonder he is ****** bailing on us now

haha. Maybe i'm reading too much into it, but, I didn't like the way he said "they" haven't won a premiership. Not "we haven't won a premiership". You're still a shark atm mate.

Actually that's a good pickup SkullCrusher. Maybe he is self-excluding himself from the previous failed campaigns to string another 50k out

Mate I am old school, I need to believe it. If I don't then Footy is dead to me. Right or wrong, I believe that some blokes do play for the love of playing. Loyalty is everything in my life, sadly the vast majority of players have no loyalty to themselves their mates or anything. It's all about me me me and that is society. I don't like it but I have to live with it. Having followed the club for so long there once was loyalty to the club, blokes did take pay cuts. Do you think that Gal was never offered a better contract to play somewhere else? So yeah I believe we have to look beyond days like today.

I blame society because my generation is ****ed! The ones after me are even worse!!
Fifita got all behind gettin the infamous 5 back and dedicated trys to them, seemed liked he loved it here but instead of negotiating earlier believed his own hype waited for the best possible offer and took it, **** he even postponed his wedding for footy.if he really is a family man, marriage and honeymoon is more important than the extra money he would of received from the world cup

Not sure why people are upset he's leaving. Spending that much of your cap on a prop with one good year under his belt is ludicrous. Canterbury have always been smart with recruitment but this is going to bite them in the arse bigtime.

Fifita has done us a massive favour by taking the extra dough.

Bullet. Dodged.

In the end, he felt much more comfortable ripping them off rather than us. :good:

Yep disappointing, but when nearly your whole team is signed from other clubs, you can't really complain.

It's the right move for Fifita... watching him when he walks down the sideline, I don't know how long those legs can hold that body up. He needs to take the guaranteed $.

That’s actually something that I've been thinking about too. I'm not sure how long such a big body can perform for. The impact on his joints, ligaments, tendons etc must be immense. There must be an evolutionary reason why we all aren't 7ft and 150kgs!
