They fulfil those obligations when they pay out the contract and move on to greener pastures.
Cool. As long as it's negotiated properly, fine.
Players come and go. He'll be forgotten about within a week.
They fulfil those obligations when they pay out the contract and move on to greener pastures.
yeah I agree with this. Can't blame a bloke for wanting as much money as possible but not when it come to breaking a contractI can appreciate what has been said in earlier posts but I just cant cop a contract not being honoured, both ways as well, club wanting to offload a player before contract is up plus a player wanting out once he has agreed to something.
I can let it go providing both parties agree but if its only one way it pee's me off.
The problem with players chasing money is that the system is broke. Players have every right to make life decisions and pack up and leave.
But the NRL has shot it self in the foot time and time again and left clubs with the mess, hence fans and the media get on the players backs for doing something perfectly within their right, currently.
- With no transfer Fees, clubs will always be the ones punished.
- There's no legally binding contracts, NRL contracts are an absolute joke. Players, should they want to leave and break contract, should feel the financial ramifications of doing so. Like in football (soccer), if they really want to break contract and have no one ready to stump up the transfer fee, they need to pay out the rest of their contract. That will make them think twice.
- No compensation fees. In every other professional code, there is almost always a compensation fee for players under a certain age who have been grown at the club.
All these things are because the NRL are weak. Players dictate terms and the NRL lets them.
Fifita would make a great 8.
Fifita could probably play any position for the Wallabies.
Ha!Its just hit me, Fifs has a crap play the ball cause he's come up through the union ranks where there is no play the ball!
Well, no.
Also, pretty sure transfer fees have been paid for players that are moving to or from NRL (Burgess), just not between NRL clubs.
In all of those instances the clubs granted a release. So whats the fee for Hayne jumping ship for a deal in NFL? Or for Semi say leaving for Japanese rugby?
Or D.Fifita going to Super League?
And even with mid season NRL moves. How amateur is it that players become on 2 pay rosters still. Its a joke of a system.
Its already an NRL player mindset that they can almost certainly get out of any contract. All because the NRL plays second fiddle to the "elite".
lets face it, anyone would chase the money
when we chase jobs we looks for a pay rise, not a pay cut
i for one, dont chase a better job, i chase money
i have kids and rent to pay, as well as a car loan and a credit card, to go with a wife who drinks like me and loves to eat nice food
i dont blame any player for taking the money and running
they have one career
we are not the ones who have to deal with bad ankles, bad knees, shoulders, torn muscles, post surgery ect
we get hurt when a good player leaves and cheer when we poach his replacement
good on fifita for not towing the line and saying mate its about loyalty then chucking a snowden
