I agree HB but I don't think it would have taken this long had lawyers not got involved.

Yeah maybe mate but if that's the case our club should be letting them play until it's sorted out, just like with SKD.

I think they wanted to see what happened with the Penrith JRL appeal.

If that wins then the Sharks don't really need to do much at all.

Yeah but it happened at their event within their jurisdiction with their officials etc. We kinda need a submission from them with their official version of events to make our call .

But that was done 10 days ago. It's ridiculous it's all still up in the air.

At least if we only give them 4 weeks or whatever they have already served some. And managed to get at least one win without them.

No change apparently.

hmm.. Did we maybe make an error letting them hand down their penalty before us? If we went bang 2 weeks and $15K half suspended its done and dusted early and there is no 12 month ban from Penrith to compare it with.

They handed down their initial penalty about a day later I think? We wouldn't have had a chance to get much evidence together by then. They kind of had the upper hand because they could get the witness accounts straight up etc. Also, I don't think they'd be too worried about handing out a harsh penalty and then reducing it upon appeal if absolutely necessary. Really all that is at stake is a couple of blokes watching a game of park football. Big deal. We probably need to be a bit more thorough, considering that there's probably close to $1m pa (guess) worth of contracts up in the air. And if we go with the light penalty and it turns out we didn't do enough, we'll cop it.

Also, Channel 9 were already squirting over it before we were probably even aware of it. So if we handed down a penalty straight away it wouldn't have been enough, no matter what we did.

We are damned if we do, damned if we don't, such is our reputation and position. I'm firmly of the view we can't win with the stupid media games no matter what we do.
