has P.Gallen been quoted as saying this?
That was my next question. I'm sure you won't find any direct quotes but it's been alluded to. I'm hoping it's not the case.

Gallen is looking to have two bouts one at the end of November and one in Feb so he still won't get a full offseason in.
The club of course is allowing this.
If givin the choice I 'd rather him have a couple of fights than play 4 nations..

Both have pro's and con's - while the risk of injury is greater to an extent in playing the 4 nations he doesn't have to change his body for it.
When he is boxing he needs to lose kgs to increase his speed and endurance. Plus he doesn't do any weights, last year he did no weight training from after world cup till he came back to sharks training. So he started the season under weight and under strength - if you ask me was a major reason why he was out of action for most of this year.
that would be bloody handy if he did that.Agree I'd rather him wander the streets trying to find a major sponsor..

Vic might be referring to a third party sponsor for Gal mate, not the team

Does boxing fall under Wada? If so isn't Gal now on their list.Gallen is looking to have two bouts one at the end of November and one in Feb so he still won't get a full offseason in.

has anyone thought that Gal being a bigger brand actually benefits us?
Marketing wise it is good for him and us.
Sponsorship is all about brand recognition.
when he fights he is also representing the sharks even though he is not wearing his gear.
It is exposure for the club.
(this year the asada issue had a large bearing on sponsorships)
Not sure why we're discussing Gal in the Fifita thread but when in Rome..
I reckon the break should see Gal in some great form next year. Might even get a few back-to-back for us before Origin.
By next year ASADA will be well and truly in the past.
