I think he should come on for Hunt next week. Those two penalties he gave away really changed momentum.
I can't bring myself to watch games we lost but was Hunt really as good as you are saying Thresh?
Did you watch the game or not? First post says yes, second says not.

Anyway, Hunt was great. I wouldn't be replacing him. Unfortunately tonight I'd say it was the big dog I'd replace in hindsight. We were shifting and covering from the inside in defence brilliantly until Andrew came on and was just that bit slower to close the gap which slowed up the left to engage and slide. This then anchored us a bit when they shift quickly back to their left. I don't think it is runs troubled anyone either, certainly no more than Tolman would have so I think the defensive upside of Tolman would have paid more dividends tonight.

No, you're not

This is a factual statement right here

I get that the weather in Sydney is kinda all over the place but I think it was a reasonably safe bet to expect those sort of conditions and they just did not suit Fifita, I thought he struggled with the ball to get any momentum or make much impact cause he already lumbering around but then you throw in slippery surface ect.. He only made 3 runs but think we were defending mostly during his stint

I am glad he has been playing well and his form was rewarded with a spot though kinda surprised Tolman fell down the pecking order as he has been a regular 17 this season and Aiden seems like a player coaches would love and that his experience, defense and big motor would be highly valued.

Have to wonder if he has a body niggle and with our forward options/depth available coach is playing it safe. No doubt there is a rationale behind it - it's not like Aiden has an attitude problem. Now that Dale is back perhaps Aiden seems less appealing or necessary.

Fifs wasn't bad and he made 100% of his tackles so Tolman couldn't have done any better in D from a statistical standpoint but I reckon we would have got more out of his selection over the course of that game. Every player out there was wrecked by the end of it and the back end of the game was where we were most vulnerable after all that defense and mistakes.

Tolman can slow the ruck without giving away penalties as well, he's subtly good at it and isn't a marked man like Fifs

I'm a Royce Hunt fan and he was good with his carries and also made 100% of his tackles but his 2 unnecessary penalties killed us and worked against everything the rest of the team was trying to achieve. He was replaced straight away after the 2nd penalty though his stint was probably coming to an end soon anyway, Fitz using him in 2 short bursts

Royce and Fifs both had an error and Fifs 1 penalty against his name so our veteran prop let us down with discipline a tad as well

Royce has been going well this year and should keep his spot over Fifs or Tolz but should be kept on a short leash and not afforded too many chances if he doing silly things or his form isn't maintained

I agree Tolman should be in for Fifita, but I don't think it would have mattered tonight. Leniu and Sorro were massive for Penrith when they came on, we needed a prime BHU to match them and he wasn't quite there. Hopefully another month under his belt will have him back to early season form. We really need that bench impact role to go with Cam.

Yes mate I watched it. I just didn't notice that Hunt played as good as everyone is making out. Happy to go off everyone's assessment that he played well.

Sadly Afif, didnt go as well last night as the last few games. Agree, think it was a lapse in judgement not to play Tolman last night. Horses for course. Assume we dont re sign both of these players, so probably the next few Team list will indicate which one is not with us next year.

Soro was a beast.

Sorry about that, gave him a bit too much protein this week...

Meanwhile I'm carb loading
ahem

And off contract.
Wouldnt actually mind him on the bench for us in 2023.
Far better player now than when he left

Soro has been solid to very good for the Panthers in past seasons but this year he has been fantastic for them , been very strong with the ball, we certainty struggled to contain his impact from the bench last night

I can't help when I watch him to be just waiting for the dumb penalty he is about to give away.
Not sure what games you’re watching but he’s given away 3 penalties all season according to the stats. The most in the team being Moylan with 13. Brailey, Mcciness & Ramien with 10. If you’re waiting for the dumb penalties, you must be seeing something else

14 games. Fifs played 16 & given 6 away. Ramien has played 15, 10 pens conceded. Until last night, Royce had given 1 away. He’s played 3 -4 less games.

Hamlin-Uele 5 pens in 9 games. Royce doesn’t give many pens away, which is what I was replying to.

Welcome aboard Paige!

My comments re Hunt were in relation to blatant penalties for late flops - all three of the penalties you correctly referred to.

Don't worry, I could name the idiosyncrasies of most of our players which I dread. Fifs dodgy play the balls, Ramiens high shots, Rudolph's silly passes, Teigs / Nikoras drop balls at the line etc.

You will get used to our sarcastic views of the world. Just read HBs posts!
