Sam, just for reference, I did in fact call and ask for information on any proposal to reintroduce board remuneration, seeking clarification on whether the board was proposing to leave the resolution as it was (no remuneration) or to seek approval to pay directors.

I spoke to three people, none could give me an answer and although I left my details for someone to call me, that call never came.

Imagine how much concern could have been avoided with a simple answer!
They probably sent the response to the wrong address with 5 membership packs.

you obviously missed this part? the dick sucking line was there no longer than a minute. if your too big to accept an appology when its given than that just shows what type of person you are..

mate, i was critical of some of the things irvine did as well, and as well as bazza before him. what irvine did good far outweighed the bad. what this board have done so far the bad far outweighs the good so im going to give it them.

I accept your apology. Let's move on.

What have they done that's so bad, and I mean things that can be substantiated, not just opinion and hearsay on here.

I accept your apology. Let's move on.

What have they done that's so bad, and I mean things that can be substantiated, not just opinion and hearsay on here.

loss of sponsorship (although they have said sponsorship has increased?? have to look a little more closely to see that it seems to have been tacked on somewhere, but i believe the figures will be more reflective of the apparent loss we are seeing now in the next financial report)

lack of transparency. - not consulting members on issues and making decisions on our behalf that should be made by us (refinancing the loan without consultation)

spending outside our means - you just need to see the financial report to see that we have blown budgets everywhere in one year.

lack of understanding of our current situation (raising the membership prices quite substantially in the current environment was just a bloody stupid decision)

thats just a few that spring to mind.

my main gripe is that they sailed in the coat tails of the asada drama promising that they were the best to lead to us through all this asada crap and would have heaps of sponsors because of their business contacts at the high end of town....what have we got so far? remondis stadium and a few smaller sponsors. hisense walking mid term, knocking back several potential sponsors in the current climate because they offered what the baord seemed 'not enough'.

they used scare tactics and emotion to get in and IMO have just lied their way in. good on them for their campaign though, they get points for that.

i also give them points for seemingly not stuffing up the development. i just hope that they have other plans in place to make money instead of just thinking we will have $40mil soon, we will be fine.

I'm starting to think that Godwin's Law has now been surpassed by what I shall define as the "Fellatio Ratio"

Fair points, a couple I have the same issue with myself.

So, what response have you had, what explanation have you been provided? There would be a lot of factors that people on here just wanted know.

thus far i have only been responded to once ( i dont expect a resonsoe straight away from my email this morning about the agm).

being a private email, im not sure if i can divulge exactly what was said to me to me in a public domain, but basically along the lines of thanks for your concerns and we have taken those on board and we are working hard as a board to make the cronulla sharks a better brand...etc etc. basically a spiel to make me smile, which it didnt.

in regards to upping the membership i asked why in the current climate have they just gone and upped it by the amount it went up and suggested that perhaps upping it in increments over the next 5 or so years wouldnt have had such an impact it did and may have gotten more members to re-sign, and not downgrade, or not re-new at all. their response was that the memberships in their opinion were being grossly undersold.

they never outlined what they were doing to rectify the sponsorship thing, which is what i am most upset about. if they just come out and say, we are doing this, or we have tried this i wouldnt be pissed. why all the secrecy? that is my main gripe.

i also asked what plans they have in place to make income now and over the next 5 years. i have gotten no response from that.

I consider myself to be objective and independent when assessing the performance of people in charge of our Club.

The one single issue I have with the current board was their attitude and ignorance to publicly support Flanagan without knowing the full facts and details, and if they did know, it was a "political" stunt to gain support from the Members.

They publicly stated that in their view the Coach was innocent of any wrong doing - the NRL have ruled other wise, so I see their judgement as being incredibly poor.

Had they allowed the natural process to take it course, but still wanted to support Flanagan - not a problem, but to do what they did was amateur.

I guess my other concern is that I don't view this Board as taking a long term stable view, at least with the previous Board, I felt that they were prepared for a long reign as a Board to see through not only the development, but also the ongoing success of the Football team.
