Tipped demons last week, but not this week.

He's my favourite player ATM, but FMD as if Gawn isn't frustrating

You're the Swans' fan mate.

Big win for the Blues. Hope the lads knew the words to the song.

Honestly haven't really been paying that much attention this year. I've watched a few games but I've been busy. If I was paying attention I'd probably be paying you out for what's going on at your joint.

Yeah it's been one ugly season mate, no doubt about that.

Blueys win and Swans out of the 8. All in all that's a pretty good week of AFL for me :)

Thank God Richmond got up, gives us a bit more of a buffer.

Now we need to put a cricket score on GC

Not that I love Richmond but I was hoping they'd get up, hate Geelong.

Was a good final quarter.

What a difference one game can make, 8th ----> 4th, and check out that %

Yeah I'd be happy to see the Dees go deep in September, have always liked them.

Terrible king hit from Gaff. Has to get a massive suspension for that.

Without being biased this is actually very impressive.

Carlton have announced that they will upgrade each of their 2018 club members for next season for free as a token of appreciation for enduring yet another terrible season this year.

With one game left in 2018, the Blues are already assured of their fifth wooden spoon in 17 years and are on track for their worst ever season.

Carlton are 2-19 and if they fail to beat Adelaide on Saturday night, it will be just the third time in their history that they win two games in a season – the other two occasions being in 1897 and 1901.

Another loss against the Crows would see their winning rate (nine per cent) "surpass" those achieved in 1897 (14) and 1901 (12).

Carlton CEO Cain Liddle said the campaign was designed to send a “heartfelt” thanks to the club’s 56,005 members.

“We know this year has been challenging, so we wanted to genuinely thank each and every member who has supported us throughout the season,” Liddle said.

“It’s important our members know how much they mean to us and that their commitment to our long-term plan is greatly appreciated.

“I believe this initiative is the biggest free membership upgrade in Australian sport, which hopefully shows our members we truly value their dedication to our club.”

Yeah that's a good idea for suffering fans, but it's also a very smart way of keeping those members.

Things must be heating up with AFL memberships lately, I saw on facebook that's Dee's are offering $10 membership for the rest of this year, which still lets you secure final tickets.

I read the t&c's, which I don't usually do, and you pay $10 to be a 2018 member for the rest of the year (1 game), get access to finals tickets, but also agree to be 2019 member at the minimum package of $50.

Not bad I suppose.

I don't know why the AFL persists with the rest week after the final round. It's idiotic.

I thought so too, but I read why last week.

It's so they can secure the best grounds and scheduling for the finals, they get that extra week to lock them in before the NRL.

Not that it matters with the ground that much now that they don't really use ANZ, and there is a chance that all finals could be played at the MCG, but it helps with ratings to book those blockbuster games in early

Yeah but like you said they dont use ANZ anymore so it's irrelevant.

It gives teams 5-8 a bit of a leg up imo plus the comp loses momentum.
