GWS are certainly on the right track but probably still a few years away. Signing Mumford last year and Griffen this year will make a huge difference. Keeping their young guns from interstate will be a challenge as well.

I hope they succeed, quite enjoy watching them. Also hope they pump the Swans.

Still have nightmares about round 1 last year, wettest sporting event I've ever been to

I like the GWS team so I hope they do well, but agreed, they have had a couple of gimmies

hopefully they are competitive this weekend

Rocket is not the man for the GC. I'm astounded they didn't go for Bomber Thompson. Seriously. Multiple premiership winning coach, wanted the job... weird.

I don't think Bomber would have done any better then Eade. Where the improvement would have come from would have been from keeping McKenna as coach.

The club was improving leaps and bounds under him. And he was just starting to be able to field a co,mpetetive team without Ablett.

Gws was stalled under Sheedy, and now Suns have under Eade. And with Ablett as good as gone they'll go backwards

Yeah I thought he was okay and pretty stiff to get boned so early. It was obviously a management group who are desperate for success and possibly keen to justify their own positions. Wasn't there chat that McKenna had lost the players though?

Anyway I just think Thompson is one of the best footy minds around and has a proven record. Also I feel there's some similarities about the GC midfield and the Cats of the 2000s.

Its funny how blame was handed out. Dank was at Essendon, GC and Geelong. Bombers cop the punishment.

Dank was at Manly, Penrith, Cronulla. Sharks cop the punishment.

Don't know what to make of that win, seemed to fall into the same habit as last year of switching off at times. Credit to the Giant they did play very well at times

Who is everyone tipping with Saints and Blues? I think Saints might sneak in, then Malthouse self destructs

A bit of talk that he will retire after he breaks the all-time coaching record against Collingwood next week. His wife has been very sick for a while now.
